Xiaochangshan Island Tourism

Xiaochangshan Island is located in the warm temperate zone of the northern hemisphere. The continental monsoon climate with maritime characteristics has no severe cold in winter, no intense heat in summer and four distinct seasons. It is foggy in late spring and early summer, and foggy weather will affect passenger ships entering and leaving the island. The best tourist season is from mid-June to early October. Accommodation on the island is mainly fisherman's hotel, and there are also two hotels. The reception capacity and conditions are not as good as those of Dachangshan Island in counties and towns, and the development of tourism resources is not as good as that of Guanglu Island and Haxian Island. Most of the waters around Xiaochangshan Island are privately contracted, and tourists may be blocked by farmers when they play at the seaside. The beach that is now open is located in the western half of the island. During the tourist season every year, the only passenger ship in Xiaochangshan Island will increase its daily flights to Haxian Island in addition to the normal flights to Pikou Port. Choosing to take a passenger ship from Pikou Port to Dachangshan Island, and then take an express train or bus, has become the most important mode of transportation for islanders to travel inside and outside the island.
