Naqu is the largest prefecture-level city in China.

Naqu is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Xizang Autonomous Region. It is about 1 156 km long from east to west and about 760 km wide from north to south. It is adjacent to Changdu in the east, Ali in the west, Lhasa and Linzhi in the south, and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Qinghai Province in the north. The total area is 369,674 square kilometers.

I. Geology and landform

Naqu lies between Tanggula Mountain, Nyainqentanglha Mountain and Gangdise Mountain in northern Tibet. The central part of the Ministry is hilly and mountainous, but the slope is relatively gentle and the mountains are mostly round. The altitude in the northwest is relatively high. Because it is located in the branch or residual vein of Nyainqentanglha Mountain, there are many peaks, steep terrain and obvious height difference, all of which are above 5500 meters above sea level. The highest Sangding Sangkang Mountain is about 6500 meters above sea level.
