What does sunspot mean?

Sunspot is a kind of solar activity that occurs on the photosphere of the sun, and it is the most basic and obvious solar activity. It is generally believed that sunspots are actually a huge vortex of hot gas on the surface of the sun, with a temperature of about 3000-4500℃. Because its temperature is lower than the surface temperature of the solar photosphere (about 6000 degrees Celsius) 1000 to 2000 degrees Celsius, it looks like some dark spots. Sunspots rarely move alone, but usually appear in groups. The active period of sunspots is about 1 1 year. When they are active, they will have an impact on the earth's magnetic field, mainly making the atmospheric circulation of the earth's north and south poles and equator flow in the meridional direction, thus causing bad weather and cooling the climate. In severe cases, it will cause damage to various electronic products and electrical appliances.

Although sunspots are "dark" in color, they are as clear and conspicuous as solar flares under observation. Astronomers call the year with the most sunspots "the peak year of solar activity" and the year with the least sunspots "the valley year of solar activity".
