Six observation diaries

March 14 Tuesday sunny.

There are seven lively koi fish in my family. Some are big red, like a swimming little sun; Some are orange, like big oranges; And colors, like chameleons. The small fish is streamlined in shape and has a body length of 6~ 12 cm. I fed them fish food and floral rolls at the same time, and they seemed to prefer floral rolls. When they breathe and eat, their mouths open and close like small speakers, and food is sent into their mouths by suction.

It will be cloudy on Wednesday, March 15.

Today, my little koi fish is very lively and lovely! When I was feeding, I found that they were all swinging their long white tail fins and fins growing in their bellies, and grabbing food at a speed of 50~60 cm/s with their streamlined bodies and flexible tails. They were also very timid. When there is any movement or sound, they will run around the pool. Sometimes two fish bump into each other and flap each other's dorsal fin with their tails, as if sending a message. When they swim, their tails swing between 98 and 180 degrees. When they are very leisurely, they will "lie" in the corner of the fish pond one by one, as if afraid of affecting their companions; When you are angry or afraid, you will quickly "hide" in other fish, as if afraid that others will see you.

On Thursday, March 16, the weather is fine.

Today, just after feeding fish food, I saw a spot with a body width of 2 cm and a body length of 7-8 cm. koi fish spit out a dark green object with a body length of 2-3 cm. After it vomited, it took a few breaths with its mouth and swam away. Several other fish have also spit out such secretions. I think this white and dark green secretion may be food they don't want to eat, or it may be stomach acid or bad bacteria in water. It seems that it is impossible to explore nature without rich knowledge!

On Friday, March 17, the rain cleared up.

Today, I hung fish food on the hook and stayed in the water for 5 minutes. A greedy little fish swam over. Suddenly, I lifted the hook, and the fish swung its tail at 180 degrees, and its two ventral fins swung back and forth vigorously. Blink of an eye, it jumped 2~4 cm from the horizontal plane, and then fell into the water, stirring up coils of water vortex. I checked the information: Carp (koi fish) does jump, the highest jump is 1 meter. Carps in rivers and lakes often jump out of the water to play at sunset. There is also the legend of "Carp yue longmen" among the people.

Saturday, March 18, the weather is fine.

Today, I want to change water for fish. Before changing the water, the fish were silent, as if afraid of being found, so they "hid" under the water depth of 8~9 cm. Even if there is something delicious, it is "waiting for the rabbit" and waiting for it to sink. But just after changing the water, the fish all shook their fins and chased each other. When feeding, everyone scrambled to eat. Why has it changed so much? Personally, I think: Although carp grew up in rivers and lakes, they are used to living without changing water for a long time. But just as people like clean homes, fish also like clean water. Clean water is not only "fresh air", but also there is no excrement in the pool. Of course the fish like it!

March 19 Sunday sunny to cloudy.

Fish like to play very much! Sometimes they pounce on food, sometimes they hit down, and sometimes they chase and play in the water. However, these are swimming fish. Won't they "walk backwards"? Through observation, my answer is yes. Don't believe me, look at my koi fish. When the little guy swims forward, the ventral fin paddles backward, and the body and tail paddle left and right, creating a vortex to push the fish forward. So sometimes they can slide for a while with the help of the current. When swimming backwards, the ventral fins paddle forward, generating a driving force similar to rowing. In addition, the tail only swings to the right or left, and the fish will naturally "retreat".

Weather on Wednesday, September 27th, 2006: sunny.

I was idle today and saw some snails. I watch them.

Snails have straight tentacles on their heads. Its round eyes seem to grow on straight tentacles. It carries a round and big "house" on its back, and it is printed on the snail's big "house" in a round pattern. It has no legs to bounce around, so it can only crawl forward slowly.

I want all snails to have a crawling competition, only two tiles. Snails have a good sense of direction at first. But after a while, the snail began to move in different directions. A snail climbed to the left and accidentally fell down the steps. I ran down quickly, worried about it: will it die? When I got to the edge of the steps, I saw it naughty and stuck to the edge of the steps. I slowly picked them up, put them in a bottle and put them in a small pool. It was getting late, so we went to bed together.

Saturday, October 7th, 2006/KLOC-0 Weather: sunny.

Today I came to observe snails again. Snails grow up gradually. Last time I saw it, it was as small as the fingernail of middle finger, but now it is as big as the fingernail of thumb.

I organized them to crawl again. I want to see if they have grown up and speeded up. I have observed them for a long time, and I feel that their speed is still so slow. I think the snail may be too hungry to run fast. So I brought enough food-leaves and bread crumbs. Snails crawl slowly and eat slowly, and it takes a long time for food to decrease. It's easy to wait until they are full before getting up slowly.

So I came to a conclusion: the snail grew up, but its speed did not increase.

It is so interesting to observe things around you, so interesting! If you don't believe me, you can experience the fun of observation yourself.

Observation diary

Shenzhen Fumin Primary School 40 1 Banluolin

I planted a mung bean at home. I water it every day and carefully observe how it grows. I will observe it for a period of time after watering every weekend.

It's already sprouting. The tender stems of mung beans slowly stick out of the soil and show their heads. The tender stems of mung beans are blue and have no leaves. After a few days, the stem of mung bean gradually turned dark green, and one or two leaves grew on the stem, which was as long as one centimeter.

There are more and more leaves on mung bean stems, up to eight or nine pieces. The leaves that grew last week grew longer and longer, and the petiole gradually couldn't bear the weight of the leaves and fell down. The shell of mung bean is gone, and the top is flattened.

Mung beans have grown to more than three meters high, just like a small tree. It has more and more branches, and its leaves are much greener, gradually turning into dark green. There are five or six filaments on the petiole of mung beans, which are very beautiful. All you have to do is gently pull the filament of mung bean with your hand and straighten it. As long as you let go, the mung bean will bounce back and bend again, like a spring, which is very fun.

We'll get the result in a while. I hope time passes quickly.
