What's the geology like in Sanming City?

There are two national geoparks in Sanming City, namely Taining Dajin Lake National Geopark and Ninghua Swan Cave National Geopark.

Taining Dajin Lake National Geopark is located in the middle of Wuyi Mountain Range in northwest Fujian, with a total area of 46 1.45 square kilometers. There are unique water Danxia, giant frontal caves, large honeycomb caves, giant rock troughs, canyons and other rare landscapes in the park. Among them, Danxia landform covers an area of 2 15.2 square kilometers, which is one of the few national geological heritage parks in China. It has a large landform distribution area, many types of relics, rich contents and distinct levels, and has the uniqueness, typicality, rarity and systematicness of Danxia landform landscape, and its landscape characteristics are of great scientific research, appreciation and tourism value. It is a typical area to study the evolution of geological structure in the southeast continent of China since Mesozoic, and it is also a typical area along the southeast coast of China. Dajin Lake is located in the middle of Wuyishan vein uplift, which is the junction of Chong 'an-Shicheng fault. Therefore, the identification and investigation of Jinhu landform is helpful to fully understand the characteristics of tertiary to quaternary crustal movement in southeastern China.

On the basis of fractures in different directions, Dajin Lake Danxia landform is also influenced by collapse, flowing water erosion and weathering to form Danxia landform landscapes such as Chibi, Fangshan, Peak, Stone Pillar, Stone Wall and Canyon, which are combined into unique Danxia natural landscapes such as massive mountains, peak forests and peak clusters. It complements the vast golden lake that winds for hundreds of miles, forming a rare "Danxia on the water" spectacle in China. On both sides of the park are Jinchang Mountain Scenic Area, and its main peak, Baishiding, is the first peak in Sanming at an altitude of 1857.7 meters. Among them, granite landforms are all over strange rocks, caves and waterfalls, which are rare scenic resources and have great tourism value.

200165438+February, Dajin Lake Danxia Geomorphological Geopark in Taining was listed as a provincial-level geological park by the Provincial Department of Land and Resources; On February 28th, 2002, Taining Dajin Lake was listed as the second batch of national geological parks by the Ministry of Land and Resources.

Ninghua Swan Cave National Geopark is located in Hucun Town, 28 kilometers east of Ninghua County, with a total area of 248 square kilometers. It integrates natural landscape and human landscape, mainly natural landscape, especially karst landforms and wonders. Swan Cave Group is a karst chemical sedimentary structure, including underground river, underwater stone forest, stone forest and karst lake, which integrates the mountains, water and caves of karst landscape and has the characteristics of "strangeness, danger, concealment, depth and beauty".

The cave consists of nearly 100 caves with different styles, such as Swan Cave, Shenfeng Tunnel Underground River, Shiping Cave, Crystal Cave and Mountain Stream. The landscape in the cave is mysterious, colorful and unpredictable. Experts from the Institute of Karst Geology of the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources have investigated and demonstrated that Swan Cave Group is "the largest cave group in Fujian, with a large number of caves, dense distribution of caves and well-developed karst landscape", and is also known as "the rare cave group world in southeast China". Among these caves, the underground river stone forest is unique in China. The stalactites in the cave are rich and dense, and the karst form is peculiar and exquisite. It is called "the leading underground karst art museum in Fujian Province" by experts from Fujian Tourism Resources Scientific Investigation Group.

In August 2003, Tiane Cave in Ninghua was listed as a provincial geological park by Fujian Provincial Department of Land and Resources. In March 2004, Tiane Cave in Ninghua was listed as the third batch of national geological parks by the Ministry of Land and Resources.
