What should be paid attention to in the deployment and installation of wireless AP under WiFi coverage?

Precautions for deployment and installation of wireless AP under WiFi coverage:

1. The coverage of wireless AP should be reasonable.

Generally, the maximum allowable indoor coverage distance is 35 ~ 100m, and the maximum allowable outdoor coverage distance is 100 ~ 400m.

2. Understand the coverage of AP.

In actual use, the environment can't be empty, and there are often obstacles such as walls, which will reduce the coverage of wireless AP. For a 2.4G wireless AP, cement wall (15~25cm): attenuation 10~ 12dB, wood wall (5~ 10cm): attenuation 5~6dB, and glass window (3~5cm): attenuation.

It can be seen that when the wall is a solid cement wall, the loss of wireless signal is very large, so special attention should be paid when deploying.

3. Understand the influence of various building materials on wireless signals.

When there is a cement wall between AP and terminal, the effective transmission distance is less than 5 meters. When separated by wooden walls, the effective transmission distance is about15m. When separated by a glass wall, the effective transmission distance is similar to that of a wooden wall.

4. Determination of the number of wireless access points

For ordinary open spaces with an area less than 150 square meters, such as hotel lounges, small bars, cafes, conference rooms, western restaurants and other areas, when the estimated number of users is not more than 30, a wireless AP can be placed in each place to meet the demand.

When the space is large, multiple wireless APS will be installed to meet the requirements of wireless coverage. When the capacity demand is large, that is, there are too many users in the coverage area of wireless AP, it is necessary to place multiple wireless APS in the same space to increase the capacity.

5. Select the installation point of the wireless access point correctly.

Install wireless AP in a single room, and try to put the wireless AP in the center of the hall, preferably on the ceiling of the hall. If two wireless APS are installed, they can be placed at two opposite corners of the hall.

6. Wireless AP frequency planning

Theoretically, the isolation of adjacent frequency points is required to be >: =35db. According to the empirical value, when the adjacent wireless AP sets the same frequency point, the interval is required to be greater than 25m; When the adjacent wireless AP sets the adjacent frequency points, it is required that the interval between wireless APS is greater than16m; When wireless AP sets interval frequency points, the interval is required to be greater than12m.

To maintain a good quality WLAN, we need to consider the number of users within the coverage of the enterprise wireless network, and the number of online terminal users of a single wireless AP cannot exceed 30.
