Xianheng Hotel was jointly opened by Zhou Zhongxiang, the former uncle and nephew of Lu Xun's Zhou family, during the Guangxu period of Qing Dynasty (1894), and was separated from Lu Xun's former residence by a stone road. Although the hotel is small, "it has two storefronts". Its "pattern" is very representative in Shaoxing, a wine town all over the city.
