Wu's anecdote

Teenagers succeed in "twelve talents"

1894 In August, Wu Shi was born in Wucuo Village, Luozhou, Minhou County, Fujian Province (now Wucuo Village, Luozhou Town, Cangshan District, Fuzhou City); 19 1 1 year, Wu Shi and his young friend Wu Zhongxi joined the Northern Expedition Student Army in Fujian and participated in the Revolution of 1911. He studied in Wuchang Reserve Military Academy and Baoding Military Academy for 4 years, and was a classmate with Bai Chongxi at the same time. Martial Arts Division is known as the "top scholar of Baoding Military Academy", and he is always the first in the whole school regardless of the year-end exam or graduation exam. From 65438 to 0929, Wu Shi, as the director of Fujian Military Staff Office, was appointed by Fujian Chairman Fang Shengtao to study in Japan. He studied in Japanese artillery school and Japanese army university successively, and his graduation scores also ranked first in the two schools. He is called "twelve talents": he can write, write, draw, English, Japanese and draw.

1934, after graduating from China, Wu Shi served as the director of the General Staff Department, responsible for the intelligence work on Japan; Before and after the Battle of Wuhan, Chiang Kai-shek specially summoned Wu Shi once a week for detailed inquiry, which was deeply appreciated.

1940 At the beginning of the year, Wu Shi met Wu Zhongxi, an old friend who had been separated for more than 20 years. At that time, Wu Zhongxi was the Military Affairs Minister of the Fourth Theater of the Kuomintang and the Commander of Shaoguan Police.

Wu Zhongxi secretly joined the China Producers' Party on the eve of the Lugouqiao Incident in 1937. During his years in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, Wu Shi often showed a feeling of resentment and disappointment. On the one hand, he wants to make a difference in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression in a down-to-earth way, eager to learn something useful in the military and achieve something; On the other hand, he gradually saw through the corruption within the Kuomintang and the intrigue of officialdom, and realized that no matter how hard he tried, he could not change this situation.

Wu Zhongxi later recalled: "Wu Shi likes producers very much. He has read Mao Zedong's military works such as "On Protracted War", listened to Zhou Enlai's speech in Luojiashan, and had contacts with Ye Jianying and others. "

Dissatisfied with the dictatorship revolution

1940 At the end of the year, Wu Shi was recommended by his friend Bai Chongxi as the chief of staff of the fourth war zone of the Anti-Japanese War because he organized a key battle in southern Guangxi and won a great victory. The fourth war zone is located on the Sino-Vietnamese border. By chance, Wu Shi also saved the life of Ho Chi Minh, chairman of the Vietnamese Production Party. /kloc-at the end of 0/942, the government of Zhenbian county in Guangxi sent an urgent telegram to the fourth war zone, saying that a Vietnamese like a Japanese spy had been caught and demanded to be shot on the spot. Wu Shi ordered to be sent to the chief of the fourth war zone in Liuzhou first. After much understanding, he learned that this was Ho Chi Minh, a famous Vietnamese figure. Wu believes that * * * is equal to anti-Japanese, regardless of the country or party, and treats Ho Chi Minh with courtesy and lets him stay in Liuzhou for a long time. He also came forward to urge all Vietnamese parties to form a national alliance in Liuzhou, help hold training courses for military and political cadres, and mobilize a large number of Vietnamese youth to study in Liuzhou.

1944, the Japanese attacked Hunan and Guangxi on a large scale, and the Kuomintang troops were losing ground. Wu Shi has repeatedly asked the authorities to increase their troops, but the Kuomintang Central Army and the Guangxi Army have been at odds. In order to seize the * * * party in the north and eliminate the dissidents in the south, the authorities did not send a single soldier. There are often contradictions between the military orders issued by the Central Army and the Guangxi Ministry, which makes the army at a loss. In the end, Wu Shi's army suffered a crushing defeat. At that time, the weather was extremely cold, and the people dragged their children and were displaced on the highways in Guangxi and Guizhou. Enemy planes bombed the highway, followed by Japanese invaders, and a large number of refugees died on the way to escape.

Seeing all this, Wu Shi had doubts about the "party state" he was loyal to for the first time. He said to his family, "I will never do it again!" " Angry and resigned as the chief of staff of the fourth theater.

1945 After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Wu took over Shanghai with the army. In the process of taking over, he witnessed the corruption of Kuomintang officials, the soaring prices and the sufferings of the people. Later, Wu Shi returned to Nanjing and served as the director of the History and Political Bureau of the Ministry of National Defense. Chiang Kai-shek blindly reused his officers, even though they were defeated in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. Wu Shi received systematic military education but missed the real power of the army, which made him even more depressed.

Wu Shi was completely disappointed. He often sighs: "The Kuomintang is immortal and unreasonable!" Not afraid of being heard. Later, this sentence reached the ears of Chiang Kai-shek. Chiang Kai-shek asked Major General Li Yixue of the Presidential Palace to see if Wu Shi really said such a thing.

After the Anti-Japanese War, Wu Shi began to listen to the radio in the liberated areas, and also asked his son Wu Shaocheng, who had already gone to college, to help him record. According to Wu Shaocheng's memory, at that time, the Ministry of National Defense allocated a house to the Wu family, next door was Mao Renfeng's house, but his father did not deliberately hide his "pro-* * *" behavior, and his behavior was magnanimous.

Wu Shi has a special liking for China * * * for a long time, and has had contact with the producers of * * *. 1in August, 938, Wu Shi presided over the "Battlefield Intelligence Staff Training Course" during the Wuhan Battle, and specially invited Zhou Enlai and Ye Jianying to talk about guerrilla warfare. Wu Shi's fellow countryman and classmate of Baoding Military Academy secretly joined Zhong * * * to engage in intelligence work on the eve of the Lugouqiao Incident. Another close friend, He Sui, then chairman of the Military Committee of the Legislative Yuan of the National Government, has been actively helping the * * * production party since the Xi incident. The thoughts and behaviors of these two good friends have a great influence on Wu Shi.

1April, 947, introduced by He Sui, Wu Shi met Liu Xiao, secretary of the East China Bureau of China * * *, and he formally established contact with the producer of * * *. At that time, Wu often traveled between Shanghai and Nanjing, constantly sending important information, taking Hejia as a transit point and submitting it to the East China Bureau.

Clever handling and saving files

1June, 948, on the eve of the Huai Hai Campaign, Wu Zhongxi was appointed as a member of the Ministry of National Defense and sent to the "Xuzhou General Command to Fight Bandits". When he met Wu Shi in Nanjing, Wu Shi personally wrote to his student, Xu Shu-zheng, chief of staff of Xuzhou suppression, saying that he was his best friend for many years, and asked Li Duo to take care of him and give him convenience. After reading Wu Shi's letter, Li was very polite and personally took him to the confidential room of the headquarters to see the battle map. Wu Zhongxi secretly recorded the main deployment. In order to send a message as soon as possible, he pleaded ill and went back to Nanjing for medical treatment. He rushed to Shanghai and reported the above situation to Pan Hannian, the head of the underground party organization in Shanghai.

From September 1948 to October 1949, China People's Liberation Army moved its troops to Nanking. Not long ago, the Kuomintang Ministry of National Defense kept 500 boxes of important military secret files. Bai Chongxi, Minister of National Defense, and Chen Cheng, Chief of Staff, advocated direct transportation to Taiwan Province Province, while Wu Shi suggested temporarily moving to Fuzhou on the grounds that "it is easy to return to Beijing when entering Beijing and convenient to return to the turntable when leaving Taiwan". The Kuomintang authorities adopted his opinion.

Wu Shi wanted to transfer these confidential files to Fuzhou because he learned that he would be the deputy director of Fuzhou appeasement office. He intends to revolt in Fuzhou as soon as the time is ripe, and dedicate these military secret documents to the China People's Liberation Army. In May, the Kuomintang authorities in Taiwan Province Province urged that the archives be transported to Taiwan Province. Wu Shi used 100 boxes of reference materials and military books as top secret files under the pretext of "tight military transportation and difficulty in transferring ships", which was listed as the first batch and sent to Taiwan Province Province first. The next day, Wu Shi gave a "death order", and all the files were transferred to the library of Cangqianshan Fujian Research Institute that night, and the dean of the Institute (Huang is a close friend and Democrat of Wu Shi) made it clear.

1in July, 949, Wu Shi went from Fuzhou to Hongkong to look for Wu Zhongxi. Wu Shi said that he had been transferred to the Kuomintang's "Deputy Chief of Staff of the Ministry of National Defense" and was going to Taiwan Province Province. Wu Shi firmly stated that he made up his mind too late and did too little for the people. Since there is still a chance, personal risk is nothing. On August 14, Wu Shi received an express telegram from Chiang Kai-shek asking him to go to Taiwan Province today. On the morning of 15, he secretly called Wang Qiang, a trusted staff officer, to his residence, and made a brief and serious explanation face to face: "I have been ordered to fly to Taipei tomorrow, and I will leave things here to you. You should do your duty as a soldier, and' people are in the file'. You must know what to do next. In order to be foolproof, you can seek the opinions of Dean Huang and Mr. Liu Tong (a former legislator of the Kuomintang Legislative Yuan). " The next morning, Wu and his family flew to Taiwan Province. Fuzhou was liberated two days later. With the approval of Huang and Liu, 298 boxes of complete Kuomintang top-secret military files were presented to the PLA.

Trapped in an isolated island, United in heart

Before Wu Shi went to Taiwan Province, the underground organization in China gave him the code name "emissary 1". After Wu Shi arrived in Taiwan Province, he became "Deputy Chief of Staff of the Ministry of National Defense" of the Kuomintang. 1949, 10, 1 10 years, the people's liberation army attacked Jinmen and Zhoushan islands, and lost in succession. These two battles have sounded the alarm for the invincible and invincible People's Liberation Army. The liberation of Taipei is much more difficult than originally expected.

In order to retrieve the important military information held by Wu Shi as soon as possible, the leaders of the East China Bureau decided to send party member Zhu, who has been engaged in intelligence work in Shanghai and Hong Kong for a long time, to Taiwan to contact Wu Shi.

1949165438+1On October 27th, zhufeng arrived in Taiwan Province from Hongkong, that is, he got in touch with Lao Zheng, head of the Taiwan Province Provincial Working Committee of the East China Bureau (Cai Xiaoqian, secretary of the Taiwan Province Provincial Working Committee). A week later, zhufeng came to General Wu Shi's apartment and took all the microfilms of top secret military information from him. These include: the strategic defense map of the theater in Taiwan Province Province; The latest edition of Firearms Map of Coastal Defence Forces in Zhoushan Archipelago, Big Kinmen and Little Kinmen; Current data of Taiwan Province Strait and Taiwan Province Sea Area; Geographical data analysis of strategic landing points in Taiwan Province Island: deployment and distribution of naval base fleet; Type of parallel fleet and number of aircraft in air force airport. In addition, there are contingency plans for organizing ethnic guerrillas after the fall of the mainland.

A few days later, this batch of information quickly spread to the Intelligence Bureau of East China Bureau through Hong Kong. Among them, several top secret military information were also presented to President Mao Zedong. Chairman Mao heard that the information was retrieved by a secret female spy from the "No.1 envoy" of the upper level of the Kuomintang in Taiwan Province, and immediately said to the relevant leaders: "We must give them a credit!" Mao Zedong also wrote a poem when he was excited, telling him that he must spread it to the other side (referring to Taiwan Province Province): the waves beat against the island and the blue waves reflected the morning light; The tiger's den hides the loyal soul, and the dawn welcomes the morning light.

The traitor whistled and died easily.

1950 65438+1On October 29th, the leader of the underground party in Taiwan defected after being arrested, and confessed that Zhu was a special correspondent of the East China Bureau. At this point, Zhu's task in Taiwan Province Province has been completed, and he intends to leave Taiwan Province Province and return to Shanghai. Two weeks before her arrest, she also asked a wealthy friend to take a letter home to Shanghai. There are only seven words in the letter: "Feng (Zhu's original name is Zhu Guifeng) will return to Li within one month", and her long-awaited dream of returning to Shanghai to reunite with her relatives will come true. She didn't know that "Lao Zheng" had been arrested.

1February 2, 950, Wu sent an adjutant to meet Zhu urgently and told her that the secretary of the underground Party Working Committee, alias "Lao Zheng", had been captured by the Secret Service, and Zhu was a special correspondent. The authorities may attack her at any time, and the situation is extremely urgent. She must be transferred immediately.

Zhu quickly left his residence and moved to Alishan Hotel according to Wu Shi's suggestion. Before I left, I only had time to leave a note for my daughter and son-in-law, telling them that I had something urgent to leave. At this time, all air and sea routes in Taiwan Province Province have been closed urgently. Only one military transport plane flew to Dinghai Airport in Zhoushan Islands on the 4th. 1On the evening of February 4th, 950, Zhu took the military transport plane to Zhoushan with a "special pass" issued by Wu Shi, and prepared to go to Shanghai by boat.

At the same time, Wu Shi's identity was exposed. The secret service found Wu Shi's name in Cai Xiaoqian's notebook, but at first it was just suspicion. Therefore, when Mao Renfeng reported to Chiang Kai-shek, he only mentioned it briefly. While Mao Renfeng reported to Chief of Staff Zhou Zhirou in more detail, and Zhou Zhirou asked Mao Renfeng to investigate and verify first. Gu, the leader of the ad hoc group, went to visit Mrs. Wu Shi, Wang Bikui, and lied that he was an old subordinate of Wu Shi, director of the Department of History and Politics of the Ministry of National Defense. Under the guise of caring, he got the news that Wu and Ms. Zhu had met. He also confessed that Wu had met Zhu many times. Mao Renfeng dared not neglect and immediately reported to Chiang Kai-shek.

Chiang Kai-shek ordered Zhou Zhirou to investigate Wu Shi immediately. In the process of searching Wuzhai, I found the "special pass" he personally issued to Zhu. In this way, the authorities in Taiwan Province Province not only found out the whereabouts of Zhu, who had been missing for many days, but also finally convicted Wu Shi of "rebellion" and immediately ordered the arrest of Wu Shi and Zhu.

After Zhu arrived in Zhoushan, it happened that the two armies faced each other across the sea, and the atmosphere of war was tense. Zhoushan Island has the headquarters of the four major military regions of the National Army, and there are many sentries and spies everywhere. Zhu pretended to be ill and went to a private savings hospital in shenjiamen. Because of the large turnover of hospital staff, there is no need to show their hukou, which is convenient to cover up their identity. But even so, the ubiquitous spy found her whereabouts. February 1950 February 18, Zhu was arrested in Dinghai by Shen Zhiyue, the stationmaster of Zhejiang Station of Secrecy Bureau, Zhuang Xintian, the director of Zhejiang Police Security Department and the director of Zhoushan Defense Department. At this point, she is only one step away from Chinese mainland.

While being held in shenjiamen, Zhoushan, Zhu took out a gold chain and bracelet from the cracks in his fur coat and committed suicide by swallowing more than 200 pieces of gold four times. However, he finally attempted suicide and was escorted back to Taiwan Province Province to be tried together with Wu Shi. In prison, Zhu was tortured, but he was unyielding.

On June 1950, at the execution ground in Lakomachi, the heavily armed gendarmes of the Taiwan Province Provincial Gendarmerie escorted four bound prisoners out of the car, and these four people were forced to kneel down (together with Wu Shi and Zhu, Wu Shi's close friend Chen Baocang, director of the Fourth Military Station of the Joint Logistics Headquarters, and close assistant Colonel).

When the hour hand pointed to 16: 30, the captain of the gendarmerie gave the order, the gunshots sounded and four people rushed forward at the same time. The four gendarmes on duty rushed forward, each filled a gun, and the execution was completed. Then the reporter went to the execution site and began to take pictures. Soon this group of photos appeared on Chiang Kai-shek's desk-this was Chiang Kai-shek's order: die and see the body (Wu Shi won Chiang Kai-shek's trust in Taiwan Province Province and participated in important military strategic deployment many times, so Chiang Kai-shek was extremely shocked and angry at the Wu Shi case and personally supervised the whole process).

1On April 8th, 950, Li Zisheng, the undertaker of Wu Shi case, published a long article in News World, a publication of Hong Kong Kuomintang, detailing the arrest of Wu Shi and Zhu.

After Wu Shi was killed, the Kuomintang Secrecy Bureau sent people to search his residence for several days. However, when cleaning up the personal property of the then chief of staff of the "Ministry of National Defense", only one gold bar was found, weighing four or two. Even the Kuomintang agents in charge of the search have regrets: such a big official is not worth it!

1973 with the support of Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai, the State Council ratified General Wu Shi as a revolutionary martyr in recognition of General Wu Shi's special contribution to the reunification of the motherland.

On February 20th, when the Premier met Luo, who was in charge of Taiwan affairs, on his deathbed, he said that our party would never forget our old friends in Taiwan Province Province. Among them, two people were mentioned, one was General Zhang Xueliang who was still alive at that time, and the other was General Wu Shi (Jang Jin) who had died.

Wu Shi's wife, Wang Bikui, was arrested together and sentenced to nine years in prison. General Wu expressed his infinite yearning for his wife in his suicide note: "I married Bikui, and she was in her prime. When things at home are a little inappropriate, she is full of words and expressions. But I am gentle and honest, and Bikui can endure jade's anger without complaining, which is also very good for me. After 30 years, the couple saw it in harmony. This time, she also participated.

Wu's wife was later released from prison and settled in the United States. After her death, one day at the turn of the century, her son and daughter sent their parents' ashes back to the mainland and buried them together in Futian cemetery in the suburbs of Beijing.
