There are two listed companies in the town, Shandong Haihua Kuixing Chemical Company and Shandong Huayang Technology Co., Ltd., whose famous products melamine and Shennongdan are exported to Sifang Shandong Huayang Pesticide Chemical Group, and the production facility of Shennongdan (aldicarb) is the second in the world and the only in Asia with 20,000 tons/year. Shandong Haihua Kuixing Chemical Company has an annual production scale of 42,000 tons of melamine, which is the largest production base in China and its products are exported to more than 20 countries and regions.

In 2002, Shandong Ciyao Economic and Technological Development Zone, with a planned area of 3 1 km2, was completed and became an important node of Taicheng-Ciyao economic uplift zone. At present, dozens of well-known domestic enterprises have settled in the area.
