Beijing Hutong with Beijing flavor
1. Fuxue Hutong
From Dongsi North Street in the east to Jiaodaokou South Street in the west, there is a Fu Xue Hutong, which looks inconspicuous, but it has a rich history when strolling through it. In the Ming Dynasty, it was Shuntian Fu Xue. To the east of Dachengmen, you can see the vermilion gate with Fu Xue plaque.
Today, it is Fu Xue Hutong Primary School with a history of 64 years, ranking first among all existing schools in Beijing. The place where Premier Wen's Temple is located is the place where Wen Tianxiang was imprisoned after the Yuan Dynasty destroyed the Southern Song Dynasty and was defeated, captured and escorted to the Yuan Dynasty. Kublai Khan appreciated Wen Tianxiang's talent and hoped that he would submit to the Yuan Dynasty. But Wen Tianxiang had no hope of surrendering to Song and Yuan Dynasties, and escorted Wen Tianxiang to the execution ground. In the Ming Dynasty, an ancestral temple was built to commemorate this national hero.
2. Lumicang Hutong
is located in the southeast of Dongcheng District, starting from Xiaopaifang Hutong in the east and reaching Chaoyangmen South Street in the west. Lumicang was the place where Beijing officials stored rice in Ming and Qing Dynasties. Today, there is Zhihua Temple on the north side of the east exit of Hutong. It was built in the ninth year of Zheng Tong in Ming Dynasty (1444) and is well preserved. In 1961, it was designated as a national cultural relics protection unit.
The granary building system represented by Caomi Warehouse is actually the transportation destination of the North-South Grand Canal, which is of great value to the study of China Canal history.
3. Yangmeizhu Xiejie
Yangmeizhu Xie Jie is located in the southwest outside Qianmen, about half a kilometer west of the west exit of Dashilan Street. Yangmeizhu used to be a cultural street, where Dong Ge college student Liang and modern writer Shen Congwen once lived. Yangmeizhu Xie Jie was called Yangmeizhu Xie Jie in Ming Dynasty. Later, it was said that there was a matchmaker named Yang in this alley. In the Qing Dynasty, this alley was renamed Yangmeizhu. In Guangxu period, Yang Meizhu's homonym was refined into Xie Jie.
this hutong is coming out. It was formed in the Yuan Dynasty, or rather the Ming Dynasty. At that time, after the Yuan Dynasty established Beijing as its capital, it abandoned the capital and rebuilt it, but most of the businesses did not develop. At that time, there was a very prosperous market from the west side of Hufang Bridge to the vicinity of Caishikou, so people still went to the old city to buy what they needed. From Dadu to Hufang Bridge, people gradually walked out of the city.
4. Wudaoying Hutong
Wudaoying was formerly Wudeying. Battalion is a military unit, and the place where troops are stationed is generally called battalion. In 1965, the place names were reorganized, and Xiaotiantou and Xiaoertiao merged and renamed Wudaoying Hutong.
Wudaoying is now the latest gathering place of petty bourgeoisie literature and art in Beijing. Some bosses who opened stores in Nanluoguxiang and Gulou have also heard of it, and opened branches or new stores in Wudaoying. All kinds of cafes, book bars and boutique shops abound, which are the new favorites of literary youth.
The bricks and tiles in the hutongs are relatively new. After all, it is mainly residential rather than sightseeing. However, when the sunset shines in, it still makes people feel trance for a moment. As the evening approaches, there will be more and more pedestrians, and young people will come to bars one after another to have fun, chat and have afternoon tea, many of which will last until dawn.
5. Qianliang Hutong
Liang Qianhu is located in Dongcheng District, Beijing. It starts from Dongsi North Street in the east and reaches Dafosi East Street in the west. It runs east-west, basically parallel to the Yukun Hutong in the north. Hutong was formed in Yuan Dynasty and belonged to Renshoufang in Ming Dynasty, which is called Qiantang Hutong. The south factory of Baoquan Bureau, which is in charge of casting money, is located in the household department of the Qing Dynasty and pays salaries. In the Qing Dynasty, salary was also called money and grain, hence the name Liang Qian Hutong.
Hutong has a long history, and many historical celebrities have lived here, such as senior citizens, Zhang Taiyan and Liu Bocheng. On the east side of the alley, one corner is sedan chair lane, where Xiaodong Meng's former residence is located. The old hutong
is very suitable for young people who like art and creativity. Wenchuang Garden in Courtyard 46, as well as various cafes, small restaurants and graffiti in the corners of hutongs, is a photographer's paradise. Fang Jia Hutong, which is close to imperial academy, is a particularly good place to explore the local tourism in Beijing. Every few steps, you can see a storefront with eye-catching colors or full design. Combining the traditional houses with blue bricks and gray tiles in old Beijing, the conflict is very novel. Aunties who pick up their children from school get together to talk about their families, while uncles huddle together to fight landlords, still maintaining the living atmosphere of the block in the 199 s.
6. Fangjia Hutong
Dashibei Hutong and Xiaoshibei Hutong were always called "Shibei Hutong" and connected with Yinding Bridge during the Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty.
during the reign of Xuan Tong in Qing dynasty, it was divided into two branches, one in the north was called "Dashibei Hutong" because of its width and length, and the other in the south was called "Xiaoshibei Hutong".

Dismount at this point ",it was erected outside the West Chang 'an Gate. The Royal Guards of the Ming Dynasty were changed to Guiyi Guards in the Qing Dynasty, and they were Royal Guards.
7. Dashibei Hutong
This place was once prosperous and extravagant, once passionate, once humiliated, once pregnant with all kinds of dreams, and once pregnant with many plots. There are many names here: Beizi Mansion, Qinqin Mansion, Laogong Mansion, Qing Navy Department, Presidential Palace, Duanfu Mansion, Beiping garrison headquarters, and Old People's School Building. Like many hutongs in Beijing, hutongs are also named after things in hutongs. The iron lions may have become pots and pans in their home, but their names have remained. Because it used to be a' dead' alley, many princes and nobles took aim at this quiet place.
Iron Lion Hutong can be regarded as one of the oldest hutongs in Beijing. Named after a pair of iron lions, but the pair of iron lions cast in the Yuan Dynasty have long since disappeared. It experienced the struggle between the two parties in the Ming Dynasty, the song and dance of Princess House in the Qing Dynasty, and the temporary scenery of the government in the Republic of China. Until today, it has finally deposited its own history in the gloomy locust tree.
8. Iron Lion Hutong
Shi Jia Hutong belonged to Huanghuafang in the Ming Dynasty, and was inlaid with white flags in the Qing Dynasty, which merged the quadrangles of Beijing and Guan Xue. During the "Cultural Revolution", it was renamed as No.18 Ruijin Road, and later it was restored to its original name. Between Dongsi and Dongdan, there are many neat long hutongs. On the east side of the road, there is one called Shi Jia Hutong. As for the origin of the name of Hutong, it is generally said that there is a Shi Kefa ancestral hall in Hutong, and its address is Shi Jia Hutong Primary School.
Shi Jia Hutong has not changed its name from the Ming Dynasty, the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China until today. Now, you can visit Shi Jia Hutong Museum.
9. Shijia Hutong
For Beiluoguxiang, you can feel the real hutong culture in Beijing quietly without too much noise. Strictly speaking, there is not much difference between Beiluoguxiang and Nanluoguxiang, whether it is historical origin or landscape. Beiluoguxiang is also a traditional folk house, but like Nanluoguxiang, these folk houses actually don't want to be disturbed, so if you go to Beiluoguxiang to see hutong, you must not rush into private houses. What we should do is to feel the characteristics of old Beijing, not disturb people's normal life.
There are also some small shops with special culture in Beiluoguxiang. Compared with Nanluoguxiang, Beiluoguxiang is more literary. There are not many businesses here, which gives people the feeling of being quite literary.
There are 3,6 famous hutongs, and countless unknown hutongs. Hutong is the cultural feature of Beijing and the root of old Beijing. To appreciate the taste of old Beijing, it is essential to walk into hutong.
