Praise the new era and promote positive energy
In the past ten years since 2009, I have insisted on using my spare time to write anti-corruption novels to promote righteousness and alert the world. So far, I have 1 novel, 2 novellas, 4 short stories, and micro novels. 132 novels. In 2015, China Founder Publishing House published my book "The Standard of Discipline - 72 Micro Stories of Integrity", and its companion volume "In the Name of Discipline" will also be published soon.
One noon in June 2009, while I was eating in the cafeteria, I heard a colleague tell a joke about a lockbox. This extremely ironic paragraph was adapted by me into a short novel "Code", which was published in the "China Discipline Inspection and Supervision News" under the pseudonym Nan Xiaowang. Since then, I have recorded some thoughts on building a clean government and anti-corruption work from time to time in the form of short novels. Once the creative floodgates are opened, they are out of control.
By 2015, I had sixty or seventy short novels on hand, many of which were scattered in newspapers and periodicals on party style and clean government. I gathered these small novels into a document and sent them to literary friends to discuss with each other. One day, the editor of China Founder Publishing House came to me and asked me if I would like to collect and publish these short novels. I happily reached a cooperation intention with him on the spot. The next step is to select the newspaper topic, check it, publish it, and distribute it... This is how the first book in my life, "The Measure of Discipline - 72 Micro Stories of Integrity", was born.
The famous writer Wang Yuewen wrote in the recommendation: "Whether "The Measure of Discipline" is written in ancient times or written today, it all writes about commonplace trivial matters. A mouse, an erhu , a frame of calligraphy, a table of mahjong, delicate characters are vividly displayed on the paper, and all kinds of real world scenes are flowing through the eyes, and the shocking daily corruption is alarming. "My friend Jiang Jie wrote: "72 works, each one. They are all like exquisite miniature sculptures. The author has deeply thought about many phenomena that seem reasonable but are actually unreasonable at first glance, but the plot often takes unexpected turns at the end of the article. There are grass snakes and gray threads to ambush, so readers don’t feel abrupt. Instead, they can’t help but slap their thighs at the end and exclaim, “Wonderful!” The comments from readers and friends are an encouragement to me! and encouragement.
After the publication of "Measures of Discipline", I was transferred from Beijing to work in Hong Kong. I was busy with work and familiar with the new environment, so I stopped writing for a long time. After about half a year, I picked up the pen again and continued this hobby. In persisting, I experienced fun and felt strength. The various works produced in the past ten years also record the changes of the times, especially the construction of party conduct and clean government and the anti-corruption struggle from a stalemate at the beginning to an overwhelming victory later, forming a magnificent picture. I am fortunate to be in it and participate in it. Among them, I feel honored to record and describe them through novels.
Creation comes from impulse and slowly becomes a habit. Whenever I see news reports, hear street talk, and capture inspiration from them, my mind starts racing at a high speed and I can't stop at all. Articles convey the truth. While enjoying the pleasure of writing, you can encourage the cause of correcting corruption and changing customs. It is a very meaningful thing to be able to promote positive energy and lash out falsehood, evil and ugliness through works.
A short novel only has a thousand words. It takes a lot of effort to tell a good story and convey profound meaning in a short space of time. The writing seems to be like looking at the mountains but not the plains. Every short story needs to be designed with suspense and conflict so that the readers can pat their thighs and fall into thinking after spending a few minutes reading it. Then the story will be successful and the purpose of writing will be achieved. .
Writing has created a new world for me. In the writing, the Liaodong Peninsula in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, the vast grasslands of Inner Mongolia, the fiery and beautiful Hong Kong Island, the fields in the Lisu inhabited areas of Yunnan, and the distant and mysterious Sagittarius constellation can all be the places where the story takes place. The protagonists are also diverse, including all kinds of people and ever-changing animals, such as hippopotamus, blackbirds, mice, wolves, etc., all enter the room and gallop on the page. Different people and things appeared in different time and space, and many novel and thought-provoking stories happened. Once you pick up the pen, your thoughts are like flying with invisible wings. The anti-corruption landform trilogy "Hunting", "Cliff" and "Avalanche" uses natural phenomena to describe the situation of life; the time-travel and historical themes "Fireworks", "Jianghu" and "Liqian" use scenes from ancient times to describe the current situation. Principle; modern life-themed works such as "Get Off Work", "Eating Melon" and "Tearing Paper" also criticize unreasonable and strange phenomena from the small aspects of life.
In September 2017, I participated in business training at the Beidaihe Campus of the China Academy for Discipline Inspection and Supervision. After listening to the course "The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on the Future Society" by Professor Qin Zheng of Tsinghua University, I felt deeply about the impact of artificial intelligence on the future society. The future society will bring huge changes and make a huge contribution to human daily life. It also opened up my imagination and suddenly came up with a short story in my mind about an "AI cadre" who worked crazy overtime but had a series of bizarre incidents. That night, on a bench on the Beidaihe beachfront, listening to the sound of waves crashing on the shore, I wrote down this story and posted it on the official account. The click rate suddenly reached more than 3,000.
My reader friend encouraged me, why not continue writing and write a long story?
Writing a novel is, I believe, the dream of every word lover, but my heart keeps beating, can I keep writing it? That requires grand ideas, exquisite details, twists and turns of the story, and a lot of hard work and energy. Just like taking a difficult test, bragging about something that needs to be fulfilled, or making an appointment that you can't go back on. Once you make a choice, you can only move forward and don't give up easily.
After a fierce ideological struggle, I decided to give it a try and fulfill this long-held wish. I conceived while creating and took the first staggering step. I insist on updating a chapter every day, which is about 3,000 words. Later, when I was busy with work and had less and less free time at my disposal, I insisted on updating three articles every week, and completed a 150,000-word manuscript in 70 days. Thinking about it now, I feel a little incredible.
Most of the manuscript was written in the dead of night after putting the baby to sleep. After finishing writing, my brain was so excited that I couldn't fall asleep for a long time, and at the same time I was thinking about the plot of the next chapter. The long anti-corruption suspense fantasy novel "The Eyes of Duanmu" was written in Beidaihe, and most of it was written at home in Hong Kong. During the process, he traveled to Guangdong, Ningxia, Sichuan and other places on business, and he was writing furiously in the hotel room late at night, which was happy and fulfilling. After writing the last section, "The afterglow of the setting sun illuminates the city in the north," I felt as if I had transformed into the protagonist Duanmutong, traveling to the north with my wife and children. You can't live without going crazy. When I started writing, I felt a little dazed. It is the relief when a burden is lifted, the joy when a wish is fulfilled, and the madness when one is obsessed with the plot.
In "The Eyes of Duanmu", I made up a fictional planet and set the relationship between the characters in a country called Nethersole. Many plots and scenes come from work experience. For plots that need to unfold or leap forward, technology or dreams are inevitably used.
Justice finally defeated evil. Thousands of "Duanmutong" people joined forces to win a war without smoke. This was also a victory for the social system and the goodness of human nature. As a party member, eulogizing the new era and promoting positive energy are my creative motivations from the heart. What runs throughout is an unchanging sense of mission and a sacred sense of honor.
Mr. Qian Zhongshu said: "There are no accidents in the world, they are just inevitable wearing makeup and masks." The setting of the plot, the activities of the characters, and the details of the plot of "Duanmu Eyes" Part of the direction is carried out within the framework of preliminary conception, and part of it is based on whim. I write whatever I want. Everything I encounter and think about in daily life is turned into chapters in the pen, and all of this is related to my personal experience. , knowledge structure, and living and working environment. From this perspective, the characters and plots of this book are inevitable by accident.
I am not from a major. Writing is just my hobby, not my specialty. There are still many, many problems in the work, and the technique and level are still very immature. My friend Yang Xiaoquan has a very pertinent evaluation: "To be honest, Xiao Wang's novels are a bit disapproving at first glance, because most of them are reproductions of social hot spots. In addition to vivid language, expressive images, and some seasoning, the plots are There was no big 'surprise', and I always felt that the novel was lacking in taste. But when I read it again last year, I had an 'unexpected' feeling: Xiao Wang captured a wave of waves in a timely and sensitive manner, intercepted a period of time and space, and preserved it. A specimen, and these waves and specimens in the long river of time and space have passed away. Maybe Xiao Wang is not a painter, but a photographer. Although the element of artistic creation is a little less, the value of real historical data is the most important. The longer it goes, the more valuable this reality will be. Because life itself is full of art, and we only ignore it when we are too close. Therefore, the capture of life itself is also art. As the saying goes, this feeling can only be remembered at that time. Pity. To use an inappropriate analogy, if a novel in the traditional sense is like a pearl, after the author's painstaking and in-depth processing, the real sand wrapped in it has been changed beyond recognition, then Xiao Wang's novel is more like amber, which is always clear. It shows the gorgeous moment when the butterfly spreads its wings and takes off, and preserves precious fossils for us to copy.
This also enlightens us that every work must have life, every creation must have value, and every persistence must have surprises! ”
