Five skills of Nikon camera

Nikon camera is famous for its sharpness, but the scale of sharpness is not easy to grasp, especially when shooting scenery. Here are five tips for my Nikon camera for your reference.

Nikon camera 1 technique, grasp the sharp scale of imaging in landscape photography (including dark photography)

Nikon camera is famous for its sharpness, but the scale of sharpness is not easy to grasp, especially when shooting landscapes (or dim objects). Too sharp will be unnatural. The trick introduced here is to shoot with raw. At the same time, set the sharpness of the optimized calibration to the maximum, and then shoot with real scene. If the subject contains a large number of objects that need details (such as leaves, grass and other common objects in landscape photography), you will find on the LCD screen that setting the sharpness to the maximum in the optimization calibration is very beneficial to the control of details. If it is unnatural to look at the whole picture in the computer at last, you can also reduce the sharpness in raw. Another key point of this move is to use live view, especially when the surrounding light is dark, which can also improve the brightness of the LCD screen and further help improve the focusing accuracy (without affecting the final imaging). Of course, when changing to another scene with large light difference, remember to adjust the brightness of the LCD screen to automatic adjustment.

Skills of Nikon camera 2. Quick setup menu

When I first came into contact with Nikon camera, I was often confused by complicated functional options because I couldn't read the manual. In the process of real shooting, I always can't remember that all the functions are in that menu option. Later, I became familiar with Nikon's machine discovery, but I can actually make full use of it? My menu? The function of putting common options (first-level options or second-level options) into the play menu, shooting menu and personal user menu at one time? My menu? , you can put up to 20, and the order can be adjusted at will. Because Nikon has set shortcut keys for a large number of commonly used functions, the most commonly set contents here are D-Lighting, setting optimization calibration and shooting menu library in personal user menu.

Skills of Nikon camera 3. Skills of quickly determining white balance

I don't know how many Nikon users often use white balance surround (it is estimated that more users use surround exposure), especially in the case of complex scene light sources, it is not easy to adjust the most suitable white balance in a short time. I often surround it with white balance at this time. By setting the adjustment series of yellow (a) and blue (b), setting the compensation series (white balance correction range), and setting the number of shots, we can choose the white balance that best fits the current environment in the shortest time. It should be noted that the white balance with the atmosphere is not necessarily the strict standard of 18 degree gray (it should be said that Hibbie can always determine the most accurate white balance as long as it is used properly). At the same time, this can't be solved in raw format (theoretically, you can adjust the white balance setting in raw at will in the later stage, but sometimes the feeling of the scene may not be recalled in the later stage). In practical use, it depends on personal habits and conditions whether to use white balance measurement benchmark accessories such as white balance surround, raw afteradjustment or HIBIA. Let me briefly talk about my usual settings under complex light sources: first, I designate the FUNC button as the white balance surround button; Secondly, I generally choose a camera's own white balance (this needs to be temporarily set on the spot, which is roughly accurate and not strict, and is mainly used as the benchmark around the white balance); Thirdly, I set the number of white balance adjustment stages to 5 and the number of shots to 5. After setting, you only need to press the shutter once, and the camera will automatically take five different series of white balance photos (this is different from the enclosed exposure, which requires several shutter presses), select the photo that best expresses the theme and scene atmosphere, and then change the white balance of the camera to? Manual preset? , in? Select an image? Save the white balance setting of the photo that best expresses the theme and scene atmosphere as a custom value, so that you can easily take other photos of the same scene with the same white balance.

It's complicated to say. In fact, after practicing a few more times, you will find that the whole function in Nikon camera is quite easy to use.

Note: Other cameras can also use similar methods to determine the white balance.

Skills of Nikon camera 4. Several points of setting the best calibration.

Each school has its own photo style, and of course users are allowed to set it by themselves. When I introduced k7 earlier, I talked about how to set the contrast, saturation and hue. Here, I would like to supplement it with Nikon's optimized calibration:

(1) If you want to emphasize the edge of an object (for example, when shooting an object with maple leaves as the main body), you should improve the sharpness and contrast at the same time, so that the colors will be brighter and the visual impact will be stronger. It should be pointed out that if the brightness is improved at the same time, the improvement of brightness will partially offset the effects of contrast improvement and sharpening. If you are not sure, please set it to A (the leftmost setting bar), and the machine will automatically set the sharpness according to the field situation, which often works well.

(2) When the photo is gray (for example, when the sun is strong, the foggy mountain is photographed with a telephoto lens), it is often necessary to improve the contrast, and it is also beneficial to express another tone with black, white and gray. If you are not sure, please set it to A (the leftmost setting bar), and the machine will automatically set the contrast according to the field situation, which often works well.

(3) Increasing the brightness can partially suppress the noise in the picture; Reducing brightness can partially suppress the probability of dead white.

(4) Don't increase a lot of saturation at a time, slowly increase it, and then zoom in to confirm whether the details can be retained, especially when shooting red flowers, and pay more attention to the details such as the lack of textures and folds caused by excessive saturation. If you are not sure, please set it to A (the leftmost setting bar), and the machine will automatically set the saturation according to the field situation, which often works well.

(5) If the hue is set to a negative number, it will increase the yellow hue, and if it is set to a positive number, it will increase the red hue. When taking a portrait, you can adjust it positively. If the white balance is set accurately, it is easy to get the effect of white and red in the model.

(6) When the contrast and brightness cannot be adjusted, just turn off D-Lighting.

(7) In the monochrome filter, the contrast intensity of the picture decreases from R (red), O (orange) and Y (yellow) in turn, and G (green) is a good filter for shooting monochrome portraits, so try it.

Skills of Nikon camera 5. Automatic exposure (focus) locking

Setting AE-L (Lock Auto Exposure) is an important function in various cameras. Here is a detailed introduction to the setting skills in Nikon cameras.

(1) Lock automatic exposure only: The exposure will be locked only when AE-L/AF-L button is pressed. When the button is released, the camera will continue to measure light automatically. Because people are not used to composition, they always need to press AE-L/AF-L nervously, so I hardly set it? Lock automatic exposure only? .

(2) Only lock autofocus: Only when AE-L/AF-L button is pressed, the focus will be locked. After releasing the button, the camera will continue to focus automatically. This function is quite useful, especially when the light is dim. After the final focus, you can re-compose the composition by clicking it, without worrying about the phenomenon of pulling the bellows. It should be pointed out that if the lens has the function of locking focus (for example, the small bamboo gun has a locking focus button on the lens), it is not necessary to set it? Lock autofocus only? .

(3)AE/AF lock (reset when the shutter is released): After pressing the AE-L/AF-L button, the exposure and focus are locked (the lock is still valid after releasing the button) and will not be released until the shutter is pressed or the camera is turned off for metering. Personally, I often use this setting. It's just a habit. It feels quite convenient.

(4)AE lock (hold): After pressing AE-L/AF-L button, the exposure and focus are locked (the lock is still valid after releasing the button), and it remains after pressing the shutter, which is suitable for continuous shooting after exposure locking. I only make this setting when shooting a stadium scene with stable light source and so on requires a lot of continuous shooting (for example, shooting a skating scene in a stadium, where the light source is relatively stable, and skating requires continuous shooting).

It should be pointed out that because there are too many Nikon models, the above skills may not appear in all model settings (but they do, with the same meaning and the same setting result). Please draw inferences.
