Wedding photography skills

Wedding photography is a record of the couple's happy moments and a reflection of good memories. The following are my wedding photography skills, welcome to read!

First, full preparation in the early stage

It is worthwhile to be prepared. All the equipment should be checked the day before the wedding. Make sure the battery is fully charged, the memory card has enough space after formatting, the lens is clean, and the flash and camera are working properly. Write down a list and make sure that all necessary equipment is in the bag.

You should arrive early and check the wedding (if you can't do pre-marital reconnaissance). So you can get familiar with the location and lighting of the wedding.

Selection of aperture and shutter speed:

Try to keep the aperture at f/4 when shooting a single portrait (making the background out of focus), and use f/8 when shooting a group of people. F/8 setting can provide greater depth of field and ensure that people of different "layers" are clear. When shooting indoors, be careful not to set the shutter speed too low when holding the camera.

As a guide, the minimum shutter speed should be the reciprocal of the lens. For example, if you use a 200mm lens, you should avoid using a shutter speed lower than 1/200s.

Lens selection:

Portrait photography uses standard or telephoto lenses, 50- 150mm, and fixed-focus lenses are very suitable for this kind of photography, because the photos taken are clear and focused quickly. For a large group of people, please use a wide-angle lens if necessary, but be careful to avoid distortion on all sides. Change the lens as little as possible to avoid wasting time and letting dust enter the camera sensor.

Second, the rational use of measurement mode

People often like to use the camera's spot metering function, but I rarely use spot metering-in fact, there is no time for you to measure the light first, then focus, and then compose, so I basically use evaluation metering, and adjust the scene exposure compensation by experience.

Of course, in scenes with complex lighting conditions, I will choose to shoot in M-file according to the situation-consult the wattage of the spotlight in advance, and adjust the exposure manually according to experience with the changes of people and light source positions.

When using indoor flash, if the flash is reflected by reflector or ceiling, softer and more beautiful lighting effect can be obtained. Reflecting light requires tilting the flash lamp 45 or more toward the reflector or ceiling. If the ceiling is used for reflecting light, be careful when the color is not white; It may lead to color deviation in the shot works. Don't worry about using a slower shutter speed (such as 1/30s). This can capture more ambient light, thus preserving the state of the shooting place. You can also take artistic photos with blurred background.

Third, instantaneous capture force.

The first element of becoming a good photographer-snapshot. Unlike many photography modes such as wedding photos, almost all weddings and shooting have to face fleeting pictures. Many times you can't even ask the subject to "do it again". In order to do this well, we should have some foresight

Fourth, the beauty in the backlight.

As we all know, taking portraits against the light will get unexpected beauty. We can get a clear face when shooting along the light, but we can try to turn to the other side. As for the exposure level, it can be determined according to the picture. This picture is actually an underexposed picture of the face. In the dim light, you will find that beauty is not only the facial details of the characters, but also the films that are underexposed after expressing the artistic conception can be very tasty.

When shooting a wedding, you can use the zoom lever of a digital camera to shoot a push-pull lens, that is, the T on the camera focus knob represents the depth and range of the subject respectively. When shooting a push lens, you can first adjust the focus knob, press the record button and keep still for a few seconds, which is called "framing"; Then adjust the knob and gradually draw it closer from far to near. At this time, the distant scene gradually increases in the lens, completing the process of advancing in the lens; When the designed shooting end point is reached, keep the video still for a few seconds to complete the shooting of the "left picture", so that a shot is completed. The operation process of shooting zoom lens is just the opposite. First adjust the focus knob everywhere, and then gradually adjust it to shoot.

Fifth, the performance of happiness details.

The most important trick of performance details is accurate exposure. Like many photography, we try not to overexpose the picture when shooting details, but sometimes we have to make certain choices. For example, the white gauze on the right in the above picture is not exposed, which may be that the real subject of the picture-the bride's wrist flower-is not accurately exposed. At the same time, we blur the surrounding background through a larger aperture to highlight the main details, so as to get comfortable photos.

Sixth, the small scenery that sets off the atmosphere.

There are many things that convey the wedding atmosphere. Besides the bride and groom, don't let go of other small scenes: a bunch of flowers, a happy word, a pair of tea cups and so on. The tip for readers is-don't let go of anything that can move people. Of course, objects are only one of them, and we can also use other lenses to show all the people who convey happiness-the smiling faces of the bride's family, the joy of friends, naughty children and the curiosity of onlookers. You will find these pictures very interesting.

Seven, the combination of inspiration and creativity

In addition to grasping the moment, couples should also be able to shoot something creative when they need to shoot location and other poses. People often have a headache about how to get inspiration. In fact, inspiration and creativity come from the usual accumulation-when something seemingly unrelated to the wedding is applied to the wedding, creativity is born. We can use every skill we can think of-slow door, creative flash, continuous shooting synthesis and so on.

Finally, warm reminder: prepare enough batteries and memory cards. If you use up all these equipment, the lost precious photos are much more valuable than them. If you are not sure about some skills, you can practice in advance, not at the wedding. Another and last rule, enjoy yourself. After all, the wedding is a happy moment.
