Why are there so many snails after the rain?

Snails are mollusks and like to live in wet places. When the climate is dry, snails hide in cool roots, walls and grass, retract their bodies into their shells, and seal their shells with mucus secreted by their feet to sleep.

However, in rainy days, the rain poured into the shell and soaked the mucus at the mouth of the shell, thus awakening the dormant snails, so these "little guys" who squirmed their bodies by secreting mucus containing a lot of water under their feet leaned out of the shell, stretched their soft bodies and moved slowly.
