When was the Magnum Society founded?
Magnum photos, also known as Ma Genan Photographic News Agency, was established on April 27th, 1947.
In order to faithfully present the image documentaries after World War II, the founders were all well-known news photographers at that time, such as robert capa, Bresson, george rodger and david simon.
Magnum is the name of a barrel of champagne. At that time, war correspondents often drank this wine to celebrate with their friends after the disaster. Robert capa named the photography club after this wine.
