Tourism and sightseeing in Meilin Town

There is a tourist attraction "Panlong Temple" in the town, located on the north side of the Puning section of G324 National Highway and at the southern end of Meilin Town. There are natural landscapes of six mountains and eighteen sceneries, white marble statues such as the Three Tathagatas, the Four Heavenly Kings, the Five Bodhisattvas, and the Eighteen Arhats, as well as pavilions, platforms, pavilions, pagodas, etc. dotted in the mountains. There is a 3.4-kilometer-long road running through the tourism district. It is

an important tourism project in Puning City and a large-scale tourist attraction in eastern Guangdong. Panlong Pavilion is located on Longshi Gang, 19 kilometers west-south of Puning City and 6 kilometers southeast of Meilin Town Government. It is a group of ancient buildings that runs southeast to northwest and is famous in eastern Guangdong. Panlongwan Hot Spring Resort is located 1km straight from Tianxin on the G324 national highway to Meilin. It is now in trial operation and other facilities are yet to be completed. The internal/export-oriented industry in Meilin Town is not yet developed, and it is an undeveloped "virgin land". It will take time to hope that celebrities from other places can generously support public welfare undertakings in their hometown. Meilin is a place with outstanding people. Although it does not have factories or huge crowds, it does not lack its unique features. Meilin Town's "Dog Meat Hot Pot", "Dog Meat Cake Soup", "Meilin Vegetable Cake", "Meilin Crock Pot Cake", "Hakka Lei Tea", etc. are indispensable delicacies when people come to Meilin Town.

The origin of the name Meilin is because Meilin Town is surrounded by mountains on all sides and is in a hilly area. Looking at the Meilin from a high place, it looks like a plum blossom falling to the ground, so it has Legend has it that Merlin is a feng shui treasure that fell to the ground in a plum blossom game. Most of the original surnames in Meilin Town were moved from Fujian (the Lai family and the Guan family have genealogical certificates). Only the Wu surnames in Meiguang Village/Ximen Village/Gaotian Village were moved from Sanshui, Foshan. Before the Ming Dynasty, there were nine surnames (nine surname counties: Cheng/He/Dong/Song/Xiang/Fan/Deng/Su/Zhou). Even in the early Ming Dynasty, other surnames gradually joined Meilin and founded Meilin.
