The Yellow River Huayuankou Tourist Area was established with the approval of Zhengzhou Tourism Bureau on 1997, and officially received tourists on May 1 2006. Covering an area of more than 600 hectares, the total length from east to west is 10 km.
Located in the north of Zhengzhou City 12km south bank of the Yellow River levee, it is a patriotic education base and a foreign publicity and education base in Zhengzhou City. In 2002, it was rated as "National Water Conservancy Scenic Spot" by the Ministry of Water Resources, and in 2003, it was rated as AA-level scenic spot, with the scenic area expanded to 12.8 square kilometers.
