What is your most unforgettable traffic jam experience?

A five-hour traffic jam is like a nightmare, which I will never forget.

I remember that during the Spring Festival holiday, my family drove to Dazu Stone Carving, a world cultural heritage. On the morning of departure, the weather was clear and sunny, and expressway was unimpeded with few vehicles. It only took us two hours to reach our destination smoothly.

Although the scenic spot is crowded with people, the festive atmosphere excites us. Time passed quickly, and we soon finished our day's visit.

At 3 o'clock in the afternoon, we set foot on the way home. We thought the road home would be unimpeded, but it's a long way home.

After driving at a high speed, the car navigation began to give voice prompts, and let us enter the national highway from the next road of Chongqing-Chengdu Expressway, drive along the old road, pass the intersection of Yongchuan Expressway and return to the expressway. So, according to the navigation tips, we walked all the way through the winding mountain road. At the intersection of Yongchuan Expressway, we were blindsided, and the spacious entrance became a parking lot, full of dense vehicles.

Only when I got off the bus did I know that expressway had a big accident and the whole line was closed. All vehicles can only bypass the old national road and return to the main city. With a sense of loss, we turned around from the highway intersection and drove along the old road.

At this time, the old road has been full of returning vehicles, lined up in a long queue and slowly moved forward. Looking at the growing traffic jam, our hearts are very lost and uncomfortable, and we don't know when we can get home.

It's getting dark, so dark that we can't see our fingers. After eating all the dry food in the car, we still feel hungry. We can only comfort ourselves: "Soon, soon, we will be home soon." After staying in the narrow space in the car for a long time, we were on pins and needles, and our back ached. After more than five hours of torture, we finally got home at nine o'clock in the evening.

This traffic jam reminds me of the scene in The Man on the Embarrassed Road. With money and no money, everyone is stuck on the road, looking forward to going home! After experiencing the congestion of this festival, I made up my mind that I would never choose to travel during the holiday again.
