Is it good to get a job in tourism management?

I am a senior graduate of Hechi University, and my major is OK at present. My cousin studied this major, but now she plans to take the postgraduate entrance examination, because she said that the employment of this major really tests personal comprehensive ability, and it is also very hard to hone people.

Tourism management and service education majors can also choose to go to travel agencies and hotels in the future. Travel agencies are mainly tour guides, and they can also do some training-related work in travel agencies. The basic salary of tour guides is very low, about 3000-5000, and the main income comes from shopping with groups (extra income). To be a good tour guide, you must first have the ability to resist pressure, followed by eloquence, and also require the ability to organize and coordinate.

Hotel work is harder than teachers and tour guides, because you have to start as a waiter when you first arrive at the hotel, and the work is very heavy and tiring. However, since most hotel employees are in secondary vocational schools, higher vocational schools or junior colleges, your chances of undergraduate promotion will be greater and faster, but it will take 1-2 years (if it is fast), or 2 years+or even longer if it is slow.

Here, I still recommend that students of tourism management can plunge into the destination, because all the elements are basically done around the destination. For example, if a city has built a fangte, then this fangte is a destination, surrounded by various hotels, restaurants, blocks and so on. And new and old channels such as Tongcheng, Ctrip and travel agency also do traffic around the destination. Planes, high-speed trains and buses also transport passengers around the destination, and relevant media of cultural tourism also report drainage around the destination.

Because the development of a destination is a systematic project, it is a complex system from project establishment, planning and design, development and construction, opening operation and iterative upgrading. If you are lucky enough to participate in a project, you will definitely become an expert in the cultural tourism industry.

Therefore, this is a great test of a person's will and perseverance. If you are a classmate who deeply loves this major, you should be prepared to live a hard life, but you will get more if you work hard. As long as you work hard, the salary will not be low.
