Türkiye’s three pillar industries

Turkey is a newly industrialized country with a relatively complete industrial chain. Its pillar industries include tourism, automobiles, steel, textiles, mining, agriculture and animal husbandry and many other industries.

Dong Manyuan, a researcher at the China Institute of International Studies, has worked in Turkey for a long time. According to him, the area where the earthquake occurred is dominated by agriculture and agricultural product processing industries, so local agricultural production and agricultural product exports will be affected.

Dong Manyuan said: "For the Anatolian Plateau, this place has abundant rainfall and fertile land. The crops suitable for growing are olives, which produce olive oil. The second is wheat, and the third is wheat. The first is corn, and the fourth is sugar beet. It is a very favorable area for agricultural production, and a small amount of its products are exported.”

From a global perspective, Turkey has some advantageous industries. Public information shows that Turkey’s reserves of boron, chromium and other elements rank high in the world. These elements are important guarantees for industrial development. Türkiye exports a lot of marble, and almost 80% of the world's marble varieties can be found in Türkiye. Turkey is also the seventh largest plastics producer in the world and the second largest plastics producer in Europe. The chemical industry is a major component of Turkey's industrial system. In addition, Türkiye is the sixth largest exporter of textiles and the eighth largest exporter of ready-made garments in the world.
