Do you need a visa for an American passport to go to Macau?
American passports do not need a visa to enter Hong Kong, and neither does Macao. Entry into the Mainland requires US citizens to hold US passports for short-term visits and sightseeing to the Hong Kong SAR Government, and they can stay in Hong Kong for 9 days without a visa.
U.S. passports are dark blue (see above for exceptions), and the U.S. national seal is printed in the center of the cover. The English word "PASSPORT" is engraved above the national seal, and "United States of America" is below it. In particular, like other countries, the cover of an "electronic passport" is printed with a biometric mark at the bottom. The standard American passport includes 24 internal pages, which cancels the 48-page passport for business and other frequent travelers, but additional visa pages can be added.
