Where is Raoyang Zhenhai Temple located?

Raoyang Zhenhai Temple is a cultural tourist attraction.

Zhenhai Temple is located in Dayin Village, Raoyang County, Hengshui City. During the Tang Dynasty, the Zihe River flooded and the villagers suffered terribly, so a Buddhist temple was built to suppress it. It was named Zhenhai Temple after the town. Since then, the water gradually receded and the Zihe River disappeared. Until the Cultural Revolution, Zhenhai Temple was razed to the ground without a single tile.

In 1992, with the approval of relevant departments and the public’s initiative, the restoration work of Zhenhai Temple was implemented. It took two years and the basic construction was initially completed. However, no monks moved in, leaving it abandoned for more than seven years. The houses and halls were in disrepair and overgrown with weeds, creating a desolate scene. Some heretics took advantage of the situation and pretended to be ascetics, creating chaos.

In 2000, after research and decision by the relevant government departments, Master Shangjixiakong was invited to serve as the abbot, to rebuild the Buddhist temple and spread Buddhism. In June 2000, the master led the believers and officially entered the temple. Since then, Zhenhai Temple has gradually improved and been designated as the Pure Land Sect Taoist Temple. After the Master entered the temple, he formulated strict regulations on Zhenhai Temple’s residence rules, Buddhist chanting hall rules, monk duty rules, etc., in reference to the Baizhang Qing regulations. Due to the poor geographical location and backward economic conditions, he was extremely short of net wealth. Below, the Dharma Master has a high tree and a Dharma pillar. He preaches without interruption and reaches out to all sentient beings with his sound. He successively preached the "Mahayana Infinite Life Sutra", "Maitreya Bodhisattva's Extraordinary Joy of Joy Sutra", "The King's Ten Dreams Sutra", "The Buddha Says It's Hard to Repay Parents' Kindness", "The Sixth Patriarch's Altar Sutra", "Diamond Sutra" and other classics, and held regular Buddhist lectures to promote the concept of the Pure Land on earth. Without leaving the temple to beg for alms, he actually mobilized the great help of believers of great virtues from all over the world, and finally planned and completed the construction of the Guanyin Hall, the Dharma Hall and the monks' dormitory. and other major facilities.
