How many meters above sea level is Lotus Peak, the main peak of Huangshan Mountain?

The main peak of Huangshan Mountain, Lotus Peak, is 1864.8 meters above sea level.

Lianhua Peak is the highest peak in Huangshan Scenic Area, the first of 36 peaks, with an altitude of 1864.8 meters. It is located between Yupinglou and Aoyu Peak on the hiking trail. The climb to Lotus Peak is 5 miles long and the relative height is 110 meters. In 1997, a new 500-meter mountaineering trail was opened in Lianhuagou, which consists of a pedal path, a trestle, and a viewing platform. Lotus Peak is steep and towering, majestic. Because the main peak is abrupt and surrounded by small peaks, it looks like a new lotus blooming for the first time, looking up to the sky and blooming in full bloom, so it is named Lotus Peak. The gentle slope at the beginning of the climb is called Lotus Stem, and four stone caves pass through it. The ancients called it Lotus Kong.

The Lotus Peak cave stands steeply, and visitors climbing up the stairs are like walking through the lotus hole, just like "an ant twisting out of the calyx of a flower". The scenery along the way is amazing, and there are cliff inscriptions on the peak walls such as "True Good Fortune", "Unworldly", "Well-deserved Name", "Wonderful Views of the Sky and the Sea", etc. There is a lotus cave and lotus source under the peak. Connecting Lianhua Ridge and Lianhua Peak is a one-and-a-half-kilometer winding path that passes through four caves before reaching the peak. There are many pine trees that look like flying dragons or double dragons on Lotus Peak, as well as the famous Huangshan azaleas.

The legend of Lotus Peak:

There is also a magical story about Lotus Peak: the lotus throne, which represents good luck and good luck, came to Huangshan Mountain on clouds and was greeted by the gods of mountains, water and flowers. Warm welcome from gods, immortal apes and birds. Seeing the beautiful mountains and rivers, the brilliant clouds, the radiant vegetation, and the many hospitable friends, Guanyin stayed there for a long time and was unwilling to leave. She had long forgotten all about the solemn and lonely "Heavenly Palace". One day, Tathagata Buddha sent a "crow messenger" to urge Guanyin to return to the West.

Guanyin was unwilling to obey the order, so Tathagata Buddha sent monks to arrest her and punish her. Avalokitesvara did not show any weakness, and immediately took out his magic weapon, dipped a willow branch in the magic water in the purification bottle, and sprinkled it on the opponent. The monks knew that the Dharma water was very powerful. Once it touched their bodies, their skin would be burnt and their flesh would rot. Therefore, they did not dare to get close. In addition, Huangshan mountain gods, water gods, flower gods, fairy apes, birds, etc. all came to help Guanyin. Therefore, a fierce battle was fought until all the monks fled.

The Tathagata had no choice but to issue a "Buddha's decree" to expel her from the Western Heaven and order her to live forever in the rough and dangerous South China Sea. So people called her "South China Sea Guanyin". In fact, Guanyin didn't take Tathagata's "imperial edict" seriously at all and asked her to live in the South China Sea. She insisted on living in her beloved Huangshan Mountain. Avalokitesvara was afraid that the Tathagata would come again to harass her, so she simply transformed the lotus throne she was sitting on into a majestic and beautiful mountain peak, which later became the Lotus Peak.
