Historical evolution of Jilin

As early as ancient times, Jilin was inhabited. The immortal cave, elm people, Antu people and Qingshantou people in Shoushan, which appeared about 50,000 ~ 65,438+0,000 years ago, are important symbols of the formation of ancient human civilization in Jilin.

From Shun and Yu to Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties, the ancient nationalities in Jilin Province began to establish subordinate relations with the Central Plains Dynasty and gradually became an important part of the Chinese nation. They said, "I am cautious, Yan and Hao, and I am from the north." During this period, local governments such as Sushen, Fan Zhen, Donghu, Shanrong and Fuyu were established one after another, and Yan put Erlong Lake Ancient City and Fan Zhen Barrier under its jurisdiction. And the Great Wall of Jilin Yan was built in Liaodong County.

In the third year of Han Yuanfeng (BC 108), Xuantu County was established in Manchuria, which governed the southeast of Jilin Province. Cities and counties such as Changbai, Tumen, Dunhua, Helong, Wangqing, Longjing, Hunchun and Yanji in the east and south belong to Canghai County, Lintao County and Lelang County successively. Tonghua, Ji 'an, Meihekou, Jingyu, Baishan and other cities and counties successively belong to Fan Zhen County and Xuantu County. This is the beginning of Jilin's inclusion in the administrative system of the Central Plains Dynasty.
