Do you need a tour guide and tickets for Nanhaizi Park in Beijing?

Beijing’s Nanhaizi Park is a great place for hiking, flower viewing and walking with children. There are free-range elk and peacocks here. It is the largest wetland park in Beijing with a relatively large recreational area. So does Nanhaizi Park require tickets? How to play?

Nanhaizi Park

Nanhaizi Park is one of the four major country parks in Beijing and the largest wetland park in Beijing. How big is it? It is said to be 16 times as big as the Forbidden City and four times larger than the Summer Palace.

Nanhaizi Park has been a royal hunting ground for five generations in history. It was once one of the ten scenic spots in Yanjing, mainly focusing on "natural wildness" and "wetland landscape". The scenery here is beautiful and the ecology is absolutely unique. Elk, black swans, and peacocks are probably the only places where you can get up close and personal. How can you miss this free big park when going for an outing in spring?

The wetland scenery, free-range elk, peacocks wandering around, more than 100 swans, and more than 100 geese are the reasons why this park is so popular.

: Scenic spot information

1. About tickets: Nanhaizi Park is free of charge. No reservation is required at the moment, you can go directly.

2. Regarding business hours: It is summer in the park now. It opens at 6 a.m. and closes at 21 p.m. Although it is free, there are security checks and tourist cards at the door, so you still have to play at the above times.

3. Which gate is easier to enter: Whether it is the first or second phase of Nanhaizi Park, there is more than one gate. It is recommended that everyone enter through the main entrance, the south gate, because the small gate will be closed when the epidemic is serious, and there is uncertainty. The front door must be left open at all times.

4. About parking: Parking is currently free. There are many parking lots in the park. According to the security guard, there are about 20 parking lots, distributed on the north and south sides of the park's South Ring Road. So, if the parking lot near the entrance is full, you can drive in front, or you can go in later. Never park on the side of the road to apply stickers.

5. Regarding Elk Garden, it is between the first and second phases, but the closest entrance is from the south gate of the first phase. Park in the South Gate 3 parking lot. Amap Navigation can locate "Nanhaizi South Gate 3" After parking in the "parking lot", you can see the archway of Nanhaizi's landmark building across the road. You enter from the south gate of Phase 1 and face a large lake. It is relatively close to the lake and can be reached by turning left or right, but it is recommended to take the left side of the lake, which is slightly closer than the right side.

6. About the Swan: The Swan is located at Pier 3 of the second phase of the park (north of the Great Lakes in the picture below). There are more than 100 swans, including white swans and black swans, and more than 100 geese. I went there on March 27th. I don’t know when Swan will be able to move in. Please check it out as soon as possible.

7. See how to get to the nearest swan: the north gate of Phase 2 is closest to Pier 3, but if you enter from the south gate of Phase 2 of the park, you will be closer to the lake. Walk along the right side of the lake. That is the east side.

8. Regarding sightseeing buses: There are both the South Gate of Phase I and the South Gate of Phase II. You cannot get on the bus midway, but you can get off the bus midway, so consider in advance whether you want to take the bus and where to get off. From the south gate of the first phase to the south gate of Elk Garden: 15 yuan/person; from the south gate of the second phase to the south gate of Elk Garden: 40 yuan/person.

9. Regarding self-driving sightseeing battery car: deposit is 400 yuan; 60 yuan/half hour, 120 yuan/one hour. If it exceeds 10 minutes, it will be charged as half an hour; if it exceeds 40 minutes, it will be charged as one hour, and so on.

10. How to travel from the second phase to the first phase of Elk Garden: two options: one is to return to the south gate of the second phase after visiting the second phase and take a sightseeing bus, because you cannot get on the bus halfway; the other is Take a walk, because there are many side roads in the park, but the general direction is to the southeast. You can see the plan below. The shortest way should be from Bridge No. 1 to the east, which can cross to Phase 1. I marked it with a red line in the picture below. The service attitude of the staff in the park is very good.
