Passengers are allowed to carry cash in and out of the country up to NT$60,000, RMB 20,000, and the equivalent of US$10,000 in foreign currencies. Declare or apply for approval in accordance with relevant regulations; if not declared, it will be confiscated according to law.
Most department stores and medium and large stores accept internationally accepted credit cards and UnionPay cards. Please exchange the RMB you bring with you into New Taiwan Dollars at airport banks, hotels or other exchange locations before shopping. Never pay directly in RMB! The RMB coins received by merchants will be confiscated and may easily cause transaction disputes. "UnionPay Card" can be used at most bank ATMs in Taiwan with the UnionPay logo. The single withdrawal amount is NT$20,000 (approximately RMB 4,436). The maximum withdrawal amount in a single day is the equivalent of RMB. 10,000 yuan (approximately NT$45,000), subject to the actual exchange rate.
