Longlin goat is an agricultural product with geographical indication.
Longlin goats are mainly produced in Longlin Autonomous County of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The production area is located in northern Guangxi, on the southeastern edge of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, with an altitude of 600 to 1,800 meters. The Hongshui River in the upper reaches of the Pearl River flows through the territory. The terrain is complex, with continuous mountains and peaks. There are many earth mountains, stone mountains and half earth and half stone mountains. The earth mountain area is mostly loess or sand. The barren hillside area of ??the production area accounts for 44.0%, the pine forest coverage area accounts for 48.0%, and the cultivated land area accounts for only 7.0%. The annual average temperature is 19.1°C, the highest temperature (June to August) is 35°C, and the lowest temperature (January to February) is -3°C. The temperature differences between the four seasons are obvious. The average annual precipitation is 1575 mm, the relative humidity is 81%, and the frost-free period is 323 days. The main crops include corn, rice, wheat, beans, potatoes, taro, etc. The hillsides within the territory are overgrown with shrubs and weeds and are evergreen all year round, providing an excellent source of forage for raising sheep.

Longlin goats are mainly distributed in Longlin Autonomous County, with a small amount also distributed in the adjacent Tianlin and Xilin counties.
Breed Characteristics
Longlin goats have a strong constitution and a well-proportioned structure. The head is of medium size, the bridge of the nose of the ewe is relatively straight, the nose of the male is slightly raised, both the male and female sheep have beards, the ears are of moderate size, both the male and female sheep have horns, which are flat, curved upward and backward in a semi-spiral shape, a few They are spirally curved, with white, gypsum or black horns, and a few ewes have wattles under their necks. The ribs are well arched, the hindquarters are slightly taller than the forequarters, the body is long and approximately rectangular. The limbs are stout. The coat colors are mixed, including white (38.25%), black and white (27.94%), brown (19.11%), and black (14.7%). The hair on the lower abdomen and upper limbs is thicker and longer.

The average body height, body length, chest circumference and weight of adult rams of Longlin goat are respectively : 66.72 cm, 73.50 cm, 83.8 cm, 57 kg. Adult ewes are: 65.28 cm, 72.79 cm, 84.49 cm, 44.71 kg. Longlin goats have plump muscles, even carcass fat distribution, thin muscle fibers, fresh and tender meat, and little odor. The average pre-slaughter weight of adult Jie sheep is 60.46 kg, the average carcass weight is 31.05 kg, the average visceral fat weight is 3.91 kg, and the slaughter rate is 57.83%. Longlin goats have strong adaptability, fast growth and development under extensive feeding and management conditions, good meat production performance, and high fecundity.

Longlin goats are produced in De'e Township, Zhuchang Township, Kechang Township, Shechang Township, Jieting Township and Yancha Township in Longlin Autonomous County. There are 16 towns and villages including Xiangxiang, Longhe Township, Jinzhongshan Township, Gebu Township, Tianshengqiao Town, Zhelang Township, Yajia Town, Zhebao Township, Pingban Town, Shali Township and Xinzhou Town. The main production area is De'e. , pig farm, snake farm, Kechang and other townships. The geographical coordinates are: 104°47′~105°41′ east longitude, 24°22′~24°59′ north latitude, and the total area of ??the county is 3552.96 square kilometers. It raises 200,000 animals annually and produces 2,000 tons (based on the annual slaughter of 100,000 animals).
