How to keep navel orange fresh for a long time?

Navel oranges can be stored in ordinary warehouses, plastic film tents and cellars.

1, common warehouse storage

In the early stage of fruit storage, the temperature and humidity in the warehouse are high, so doors and windows should be opened all day to cool down and reduce humidity. In cold weather, open the window to keep warm during the day and close the window to keep warm at night. In order to reduce the evaporation of fruit water, a plastic film was covered in the fruit box in the middle and late storage period. When water drops appear on the peel or film, uncover the film and dry it before covering. After the fruits are stored, they should be inspected every 10 ~ 15 days to pick out damaged fruits, rotten fruits and diseased fruits. After beginning of spring, fruits were picked every 5 ~ 10 day.

2, plastic film tent storage

Mainly regular inspection. When the water drops condense on the tent wall, the tent should be opened for ventilation to prevent the navel orange from deteriorating and rotting. Check and select fruits every 10 ~ 15 days, and pick out damaged fruits, rotten fruits and diseased fruits.

3, cellar storage

After the fruit enters the cellar, it should be checked every 7 ~ 10 days, mainly to check the rotten fruit, change into fresh air and reduce the temperature and humidity in time. Water vapor will be provided at first. When checking rotten fruits, people should blow air into the cellar to remove carbon dioxide before entering the cellar. Steam extraction is to hang a wet straw in the cellar, and then change it into dry straw after it absorbs enough steam to get wet. Navel oranges can be stored in this cellar for 6 months, and the good fruit rate can reach about 90%.

Selection method of navel orange

1, look at the navel

The navel is small and delicious, and the navel of navel orange is also called fruit pedicle, which is its compound fruit. If it is too big, there will be white meridians inside, and the water is not as small as the navel, which is not very delicious. Choose oranges with smaller navel when buying.

Step 2 look at the appearance

Navel orange is oval or conical, uniform in size and fresh and sweet in taste. The longer oranges are, the better they taste. As the saying goes, "tall oranges, flat oranges, naked oranges", all products with different shapes and sizes or standard spheres are inferior products with a bitter taste.

Step 3 pinch the skin

Gently press the peel with your fingers, which is elastic, indicating that the cortex is thin, the nucleus is large and the flesh is full. Poor elasticity indicates that the cortex is thick, the nucleus is small and the pulp is not full.

4. Look at this color

High-quality navel orange peel is orange-red and smooth, with bright color and sweet taste. The color of inferior navel orange is blue or mixed.
