So, for us ordinary people, how should we guard against it? In fact, just pay attention to the following points:

The first point is lightning protection. Generally speaking, heavy rainfall is often accompanied by lightning. Therefore, when we receive a rainstorm warning, we should try not to go out to prevent lightning damage. The best way is to close the doors and windows at home to prevent lightning from hitting the room directly. At the same time, in thunderstorm weather, it is necessary to unplug the electrical appliances at home immediately to prevent lightning such as TV and computer from entering the room, damaging electrical appliances and even causing fires. In addition, try not to call or answer mobile phones and landlines, and do not use telephone lines to surf the Internet; There is no need for shower or solar water heater, because lightning current can be conducted through water flow, causing casualties. Of course, the most important thing is that you must not go out in thunderstorm weather. If you must go out, you must wear rain boots, which can play an insulating role.

Second, prevent mildew. Due to continuous rainfall, the air humidity will increase to more than 80%, which provides an "excellent" soil for mold growth and reproduction under the condition of sufficient oxygen. In this case, active mold will lead to moldy furniture and food deterioration, and its abundant microspores may also be inhaled by the human body, causing bronchitis, tonsillitis, asthma and so on. Therefore, when we encounter continuous heavy rainfall, we should clean up the water in time after using it in toilets and kitchens, and drag away the water stains on the ground. Use charcoal, bamboo charcoal or some granular dehumidifiers in furniture and cabinets to help absorb water. Under normal circumstances, once rice, noodles and other miscellaneous grains at home are soaked in water or moldy, they must not be eaten again to prevent food poisoning.

Third, prevent resurgence. Due to the continuous rainstorm, the humidity in the air is generally high, and it is difficult to dry the cleaned clothes. There will always be a sense of humidity, which not only affects the comfort of dressing, but also becomes moldy in serious cases, which is not conducive to human health. In daily life, families with conditions can use a dryer to dry clothes after washing them, and can also use a hair dryer or an electric fan to help clothes evaporate the remaining water when they are quickly dried. At the same time, if the wardrobe clothes are wet, be sure to take them out to dry.

Fourth, prevent falling objects from high altitude. Rainstorms are usually accompanied by strong winds, which can easily blow down flowerpots and other things on the balcony. If you live in a high-rise building, you must put the sundries on the balcony such as flower pots into the house to prevent these things from being blown down and causing harm to pedestrians.

Fifth, fall prevention. Continuous heavy rain will make the ground very wet and easy to fall. Be careful if there are old people and children at home. It is best to wipe the floor with a dehumidifier or a dry cloth and keep it dry.
