About atmospheric microwave remote sensing: What bands are used by clear-sky wind radar (or wind profiler radar)? What information do you mainly get?
Doppler frequency shift technology is used to detect wind speed and direction. The new generation Doppler weather radar adopts X, C and S bands. For PPI products, the negative color scale of the wind in the horizontal direction indicates that the wind is blowing to the radar station, and the positive color scale indicates that the wind is far away from the radar station. In the vertical direction, the wind blows from bottom to top for convergence and from top to bottom for divergence. Wind profiler radar (acoustic radar) has four speakers and emits sound waves into the sky. Based on the principle of Doppler frequency shift, the wind speed and direction can be measured, and the atmospheric temperature of each layer can be calculated by using the different propagation speeds of sound waves at different temperatures. I think so.
