Why is it so hot in Chongqing?

There are three reasons for this heat:

First, in July and August every year, as soon as the Meiyu in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River passes, the high-pressure temperature control here makes the air flow sink, forming dry weather in summer, making it difficult to generate clouds and rain, and the surface temperature is very high. According to the measurement, the highest temperature on the ground can reach 65 ~ 70℃ in hot days.

Second, the three famous cities are located in the valley areas of the Yangtze River basin. Low altitude, the ground temperature and heat are not easily lost, so that most of the heat can be preserved; In addition, the air flows from the height of the terrain to the valley, which can not form clouds and rain, and the temperature is getting higher and higher. At the same time, the rice fields along the Yangtze River crisscross, the river network is dense, and the air is oxygen-rich and humid. The high temperature and high humidity climate makes it difficult for human sweat to evaporate, which makes people feel very stuffy.

Third, because there is a lack of cool air here in summer. The airflow is mainly downward, and the atmosphere is very stable, even without a trace of wind, which accelerates the hot atmosphere here.
