Baiyangdian does not carry out flood discharge at present.

Baiyangdian is one of the important wetlands in northern China, located in Lixian County, Baoding City, Hebei Province. Baiyangdian is easily affected by rainfall and upstream rivers because of its low terrain and basin landform around it. Once the rainfall is too large or the upstream water level rises, it may cause floods. Therefore, at present, the flood discharge in Baiyangdian Lake is relatively small, mainly through reasonable water level control and drainage system to maintain stable flood discharge.

In the surrounding areas of Baiyangdian, the government and relevant departments have also strengthened flood early warning and emergency rescue, and discovered and responded to possible flood disasters in time through scientific hydrological monitoring and forecasting and early warning systems to ensure the safety of people's lives and property.
