How to measure horizontal distance with total station

Put the total station at the station and the reflecting prism at the target point. The method of centering and leveling is the same as that of optical theodolite. The new total station also has the function of laser pointing. The centering method is: place and level the instrument, turn on the laser pointer after starting, and loosen the central connecting screw of the instrument.

Gently move the instrument on the rack head to make the light spot of the laser sight on the display screen aim at the sign of the ground station, then tighten the connecting screw and rotate the foot screw at the same time to center the tube vial, and then press ESC to automatically turn off the laser sight. The instrument has a biaxial compensator, and the air bubbles are slightly deviated after leveling, but it has no effect on the measurement.

2.？ To start (a machine or engine).

Turn on the power switch (press the power key), and the current prism constant, weather correction number and power supply voltage will be displayed on the display screen. If the battery is low, replace the battery in time.

3.？ Instrument self-check

Rotate the aiming part and telescope once to initialize the horizontal dial and vertical dial of the instrument (some instruments do not need initialization).

4.？ Setting parameters

Inspection and setting of prism constant: check whether the constant set by the instrument is consistent with the constant given by the instrument at the factory or the constant after verification, and correct it if it is inconsistent.

Meteorological correction parameter setting: meteorological parameters (ambient temperature T and barometric pressure P) can be directly input, or the correction parameters can be retrieved from the random meteorological correction table, or calculated by formula and then input.

5. Measure angles, distances and coordinates.

In the standard measurement state, the angle measurement mode, the inclined distance measurement mode, the horizontal distance measurement mode and the coordinate measurement mode can be switched with each other. After the total station aims at the target accurately, the required observation values can be obtained by switching between different measurement modes.

6.？ Alignment and measurement

When measuring the direction, aim at the center of the post or sign; When measuring the distance, aim at the center of the reflecting prism; Press the measure key to display the horizontal angle, vertical angle and oblique distance, or display the horizontal angle, horizontal distance and height difference.
