Nanxun Town is known as "the hometown of culture" and "the hometown of poetry, calligraphy and painting", and many celebrities have emerged, such as Zhang Jingjiang, a strange man of the Republic of China, Zhang Shiming, one of the founders of Xiling Printing Society, and Xu Chi, a famous poet and essayist.
Nanxun Wen Yuan is located in Nanxun Scenic Area, surrounded by rivers and lakes. In the north, it is close to a street in the south of the Yangtze River, and also to places of interest such as Xiaolianzhuang and Jiayetang Library. The whole building of Nanxun Wen Yuan is divided into two parts, north and south, which are connected by an overpass. Nanxun has been an economic and cultural center in Huzhou since ancient times. Since the Song Dynasty, it has been famous for producing high-quality raw silk. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it became a typical silk town in the south of the Yangtze River, and the silk produced became the designated raw material for royal weaving. Taking the opening of Shanghai as an opportunity in modern times, Nanxun was influenced by European and American cultures earlier, silk merchants rose rapidly, and a number of important historical figures emerged, such as Liu Yong, Gu Ganlin, Pang Yuanji, Zhang Jingjiang and Jincheng.
