Qinghai Lake is about 200 kilometers away from Xining, with an altitude of 3 197 meters. With a circumference of 360 kilometers and an area of 4,583 square kilometers, it is the largest saltwater lake in China.

In the northeast of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Qinghai Lake is like a blue mirror embedded between snow-capped mountains and grasslands. The climate here is cool and pleasant when the heat in the mainland is unbearable. The blue lake is misty, flocks of cattle and sheep dot the grassland, golden rape flowers are like carpets, and thousands of birds gather in the Bird Island wetland. The beauty of Qinghai Lake is amazing.

Around the lake, it passes through Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Haixi Mongolian Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture and Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, all of which are high-grade highways with excellent road conditions (similar to Chang 'an Street in Beijing). There is no altitude sickness when traveling in this area.

Qinghai Lake is a sacred lake in Tibetan areas. It is best to respect local customs and circle the lake clockwise. Along the way, there are basically barbed wire erected by the government between the roads and pastures in the lake area, but there are still many places where there is no barbed wire or it is easy to cross and can be close to Qinghai Lake.

After arriving in Xining, you can choose to continue to take the train and enjoy the scenery of Qinghai Lake along the way, or you can choose to take a bus around the lake to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Qinghai Lake.

The main towns (villages) around the lake are: 15 1 Zhang Fang Hotel, Jiangxi ditch, Heimahe, Shinaihai, Bird Island Town, Shatuo Temple Railway Station, Quanji, Gangcha, Xihai Town, Hudong Farm and Qinghai Lake Fishing Ground. Among them, the section from Quanji to Xihai Town runs through the border of Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, with a relatively concentrated population.

In terms of diet, pasta (noodles, Lamian Noodles, etc. ) and beef and mutton, and the stuffed skin and yogurt with Qinghai characteristics can also be eaten, and the consumption is low, and the pasta is within 10 yuan. Yellow croaker in Qinghai Lake is a species prohibited by the state. In order to protect species, please don't eat!

You can drink boiled tea everywhere here. Boiled with Hunan Fuzhen tea, the color is similar to that of black tea, only with salt. If you drink this kind of tea in herdsmen's homes, you will also add milk or ghee.

The ethnic minorities in Qinghai Lake area are mainly Tibetans, followed by Hui and Mongolian. The locals are simple and hospitable, and they can basically communicate with you in Qingpu dialect.

The main scenic spots around the lake are Sun Moon Mountain, Daotang River, Mugou Rock Painting in the lake, Rubber Mountain, Chaka Salt Lake, Chaka Temple, Fuai Ancient City, Bird Island, Haixinshan, North Xiangyang Ancient City, Shebuji Rock Painting, Gahai Ancient City, Jinyintan Grassland, Xihai Town, atomic city, Shadao and Triangle City of Xihai County.

The famous rape flowers near Qinghai Lake are rare because of returning farmland to grassland. In addition, due to the early flowering due to the climate, I didn't see a golden rape field during my trip (August 25th to August 30th), only a small piece was seen around Hubei 105 national highway.

The best travel time depends on bird watching or lakes. The time to go to Bird Island for bird watching is from the end of April to the beginning of July, in which May is the best month, when the temperature is low and the wind is strong. The best time to visit the lake is July and August, when the water plants are abundant and the climate is suitable.

Recommend the section around the lake with the best scenery:

Jiangxi ditch-Heimahe-Shinaihai, Bird Island Town-Shatuo Temple, these two parts can see Qinghai Lake, and the scenery is mainly the lake area and grassland pasture.

Gangcha-Xihai Town, this section of the road is far from Qinghai Lake, and you can't see the blue sea. The scenery in most areas is flat, but you will pass by the most beautiful mountain pasture around the lake and see the snow-capped mountains.

Qinghai Lake township-Hudong sheep farm, you can see Qinghai Lake, which is a section of desertification in the lake area. The sand dunes stretch all the way, and the lake is a silvery white and yellow beach.

Precautions:

Stay close to herdsmen to guard against dogs, and camp at night to guard against wolves (according to Tibetans, there are wolves in the east of the lake).

Some places near the lake are wetlands and swamps, so don't venture near the lake easily.

Don't try to swim in the holy lake, and respect Tibetan beliefs.

Don't leave rubbish by the lake.

The temperature in the plateau is not high but the sunshine is strong. It is recommended to use professional PA+++ sunscreen skin care products.

The temperature difference between morning and evening is large, so you can add or subtract clothes at any time. Check the weather forecast of the season before you go out.

I Xining-Heima River

Xining bus station (south of the railway station) has buses to Qinghai Lake all day. The bus passing through Heima River is from 7: 30 to 17: 30, the fare is 25.3 yuan, and the journey takes about 3 hours.

If you go to Chaka Salt Lake, you can also take a bus directly to Xining.

Second, Black Horse River-Chaka Salt Lake

It's 80km from Heima River to Chaka Town, and there are many passing buses that can be reached, so you can stop at the roadside directly. The fare is 10 yuan, and the journey is about 1 hour.

There is a bus stop on the west side of Chaka town, and there is a bus to Xining from 8: 30 to 23: 30.

Chaka Town is 4km away from Chaka Salt Lake, with obvious road signs. Sitting in the town for 5 yuan, you can visit the salt lake factory.

Chaka Town is developed by relying on the salt lake industry, which is more prosperous than the towns around Qinghai Lake. There are hotels, post offices, department stores, bookstores, gas stations and so on. And the accommodation is better than Heima River.

Qingyan Hotel in Chaka Town, the standard room can be cut to 50 yuan/room.

3. Heima River-Shinaihai-Buha River-Bird Island Town-Bird Island

* * * 70km from Heima River to Bird Island, including Heima River-Shinaihai 4 1km, Shinaihai-Buha River 12km, Buha River-Bird Island Town 1km and Bird Island Town-Bird Island 16km.

You can hike the Heima River-Shinaihai section (Tibetan brothers ride motorcycles to take me), and then find a small noodle, and go to Bird Island Town from 20 yuan.

Yves (Egypt? ) The ancient city is on the road of Tiebujia Village in Shinaihai Township. Not far from Shinaihai to the north, you can see the road sign of Tiebujia 50km, and then turn to the west for about 4km to see the ruins crawling on the grassland. The ancient city has basically been weathered and damaged, and most of it is buried underground. If you can hardly see the wall, don't go.

Crossing the Buha River Bridge is Bird Island Town. Jade Qing Restaurant, Nanniaodao, Qiaolu, staying in a triple room (because I live alone in the off-season) plus a public shower 20 yuan/bed.

Business hours of Bird Island: 8:30- 17:30.

There is a bus station in the north of Bird Island Town, which leaves here at 8: 00 every morning, passing through the northern and eastern sections of Qinghai Lake, and there is a bus to Xining. The mileage and fares are as follows:

Note: The fare is the intersection of abscissa and ordinate, and the mileage is the number above the corresponding intersection. For example, from Sha Railway Station to Gangcha 40km, the fare is 5.5 yuan; It is 27km from Quanji to Gangcha, and the fare is 4 yuan. It should be noted that 1 1km should be subtracted from the mileage from Bird Island to each station, because these eleven kilometers are the mileage from the departure point to Bird Island Bus Station and should be ignored.

4. Bird Island Town-Shatuo Temple Railway Station (i.e. Sha Railway Station in the above table).

It was about 2 1km along the highway from Bird Island Town to Shatuo Temple Railway Station (the road sign around West Lake Road was from 55 km to 75 km), so I walked slowly with a heavy load, took photos, watched the lake and had a rest. It took me 6 hours.

There are two local trains passing through Shatuo Temple Railway Station every day. The train from Golmud to Xining will arrive in Shatuo Temple at 1 1: 30, and the train from Xining to Golmud will arrive at 17: 30.

5. Shatuo Temple Railway Station-Quanji-Iku Lan-Gangcha-Xihai Town

Quanji, also called Cheji, belongs to Xinji Township. Shatuo Temple is 20 kilometers from Quanji, and Quanji is about 20 kilometers from Shaliuhe Town, gangcha county.

This section of the road is a national highway, so it is more convenient to take a bus all the way. There are many people along the way, and Quanji will pass through two or three small villages when going to Shaliu River in gangcha county, so it is not a problem to eat and live.

Take a downwind motorcycle from Shatuo Temple and arrive at gangcha county bus station in less than an hour, just in time to catch the bus at 16 o'clock. It took me 1.5 hours from Gangcha to Xihai Town, and it took me 12 yuan.

Xihai Town was once atomic city (where the first atomic bomb and hydrogen bomb were developed), and today it is the capital of Haibei Autonomous Prefecture, a neat and quiet town. The urban construction is quite large, the streets are clean, there are few pedestrians, there are many government agencies on both sides, and there is a beautiful central square. Xihai Town is surrounded by Jinyintan grassland, where Wang met a girl from Zhuo Ma and wrote "In that faraway place". To the south of Xihai Town is Haiyan County, where there are unearthed cultural relics such as the ruins of Xihai County's ancient city (also known as the "Triangle City") and the Tiger Fu Stone Chamber. I came here mainly to visit the atomic bomb base, the ancient city of Xihai County and the Jinyintan grassland.

The best accommodation in Xihai Town is Haibei Hotel. I stayed in Xihai Hotel: standard room 70 yuan, ordinary double room 20 yuan/bed, ordinary triple room 15 yuan/bed, and I can take a bath. However, you can't expect a good hot bath. Because Xihai Town uniformly supplies hot water, the boiling time in a day is very short when there is no heating in winter, and the water temperature is half warm and not cold. Every hotel is like this. Small hotels can't take a bath at all.

There are taxis and motorcycles on the Cross Street in Xihai Town. I chartered a Li Xia from here, went to Treasure Beach first, and then went to Hudong Sheep Farm to spend 65 yuan.

Xihai Town has an atomic bomb monument and a base exhibition hall. 20 yuan ticket for the exhibition hall of the base, first watch the video and then visit the pictures and objects, mainly introducing the construction process and achievements of the first atomic bomb base in China. If you pay attention to * * * and national history, go and have a look.

There is a shuttle bus at Xihai Town Bus Station, and 2 yuan Money goes to Haiyan County. There is a triangle city in Xihai County in Yintan Township, northwest of Haiyan County 1km. The Tiger Fu Stone Chamber is located in the county cultural center, with small sea salt. These are easy to find. The triangle city has been partially destroyed due to the reconstruction of the national highway, and the tiger fu stone room has also been placed in the overgrown cultural center. To see these, we must first do our homework and understand their historical and cultural values, otherwise it will be boring and meaningless.

From Xihai Town to Haiyan County, the surrounding grasslands are called Treasure Beach. The origin of the name of Jinyintan is because Jin Tan grassland is full of golden florets and Yintan grassland is full of white florets, so it is named Jinyintan. Another way of saying it is that yak's coat color is golden yellow and sheep's coat color is bright white on the grassland at sunset. The two colors complement each other and add beauty to the grassland twilight, hence the name Treasure Beach. Wang met the grassland 7 kilometers northwest of Xihai Town, Zhuo Ma, which used to be the location of atomic city No.5 Branch Factory (also known as 22 1 Factory), and now it has been built into an "accounting room hotel" for tourists. There are statues of Zhuo Ma and stone carvings engraved with the words "Treasure Beach". However, due to the serious tourism development, a large area of loess is exposed, and the beautiful grassland is put on the ground, which is far from the grassland pasture around Qinghai Lake. Let's not go.

6. Xihai Town-Qinghai Lake Township-Hudong Breeding Farm

Xihai Town Bus Station has buses to Xining all day from 7:00- 17:30. After that, the bus station closed. There is only one bus passing near Hudong Road at 8: 20 every morning, which is destined for Hainan Autonomous Prefecture. You can only take this bus or take a taxi to Hudong Farm. Xihai Town to Qinghai Lake Township 15km. It is 43 kilometers from Xihai to Hudong Farm, and the bus fare is 5.5 yuan. There are also buses to Huangzhong and Huangyuan.

Hudong sheep farm is a small town that used to herd sheep. Many Hui people live here now. Due to the lack of communication with the outside world, local people will be curious about you, but they are extremely friendly (most villages and towns around Qinghai Lake are so rare! )。

If you don't live in a resident's house, the only place you can live here is the Sheep Farm Guest House, which is as clean as a military compound. The trees are cool everywhere, and the signs of "Qinghai Lake Sheep Breeding Farm" and "Practice Base of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry College of Qinghai University" are hung at the door. The waitress in the hotel is nicknamed "Yima". She has long black hair and is a lovely Tibetan girl. Ordinary double rooms here have 30 yuan per bed, but in fact, there are very few guests, so you are the only one living here.

VII. Hudong Sheep Farm-109 National Road-Xining

There is only one shuttle bus passing through Hudong Breeding Farm from Xihai Town to Hainan every day. Arrive around 9 o'clock, come out early and wait by the roadside.

Hudong sheep farm arrives at 109 National Road 15km. Depart on foot at 9 o'clock and arrive at 109 National Road 12: 30. There are many cars from here to Xining, which is convenient for parking, but the long-distance bus will not stop. I take the shuttle bus from Wulan to Xining, and arrive at Xining "Xiaoqiao" (located in the northwest of Xining) at 1 hour 50. The fare is 15 yuan.

By the way, I wanted to take a bus from 109 National Road to Huangyuan County, then turn to Huangzhong and go directly to Ta 'er Temple, which saved time. However, after consulting the map, I found that it is not feasible-there is no road from Huangyuan to Huangzhong, and only Xining and Huangzhong have roads. If you want to go to Ta 'er Temple, you must go back to Xining first.

At this point, the lake has ended.

The best way to see the holy lake is to surround it. Travel agencies can't experience the essence of Qinghai Lake in one day. You can rent a car from Xining (Xining has a new concept), drive around the lake by yourself, or ride a bike, walk or ride a bike around the lake. Generally, Tibetans walk all the way around the lake and eat only one dinner every day, which takes about 10 days.

Different from other outdoor activities, Qinghai Lake is full of donkeys with competitive equipment and physical strength. All we need is a pious heart and persistence in beauty. What you feel along the way is not only beautiful scenery, but also simple folk customs and devout religious beliefs will infect you. Local residents are full of goodwill and even respect for the Lakers' transfer.
