Stories and legends about the Great Wall
Legend has it that somewhere in Shaanxi, Meng and Jiang are good neighbors, and Meng's family planted a gourd in the corner, which grew very luxuriantly. Gourd vines climbed over the fence and reached into Jiang's yard, forming a big gourd. These two families are carefully maintained and jointly owned. The gourd is ripe, and they are going to share it equally. As soon as the Meng family touched the gourd with a knife, the gourd popped open naturally, and there was a lovely little girl lying in it. Both families wanted this girl, and after consultation, they got it, so they named it Meng Jiangnv.
Meng Jiangnv was very smart from an early age and knew everything about writing and housework. By the time she was seventeen or eighteen, she had become a charming girl. One day, Meng Jiangnv flapped a butterfly in the back garden and accidentally fell into the pond. A young man hiding behind the rockery in the garden heard the cry and rushed out of his hiding place to save Meng Jiangnv from the pond. At this moment, Jiang Meng's two adoptive parents came and saw a young man and woman standing face to face by the pond.
Upon inquiry, I learned that the young man's name was Wan Xiliang, and he was an elegant scholar. He escaped from Qin Shihuang, built the Great Wall, climbed the wall and hid in the garden. Jiang Meng and his family are very grateful to Wan Xiliang for saving their daughter. Both families are short of girls and want to recruit Wan Xiliang as a son-in-law. This beautiful young man and woman, after this adventure, have fallen in love at first sight and naturally have nothing to say. So in the evening, in the courtyard of Mengjiazhuang, lanterns were decorated and a wedding was held for the couple.
But less than three days after their marriage, they rushed to the peak of their duties and took Wan Xiliang away to build the Great Wall. Wan has been away for three years, and there is no news. Meng Jiangnv misses her husband day and night. One night, she dreamed that her husband came back from outside and shouted, "It's so cold, I'm freezing to death!" " "It's sad to wake up and recall that dream. Fortunately, she has made warm clothes, warm shoes, warm socks and so on. I bid farewell to my adoptive parents for my husband and decided to go to Wan Xiliang and fly away.
Meng Jiangnv walked through thousands of waters in Qian Shan, suffered a lot, and went all the way along the Great Wall to Shanhaiguan to find her husband. After detailed inquiry, she learned that her husband was exhausted and buried in the Great Wall two years ago. Hearing this, Meng Jiangnv cried for three days and nights. Tears splashed on the wall and crashed with a clash. The Great Wall was crying down a big gap, revealing the bones of Wan Xiliang and others.
Meng Jiangnu found her husband's bones wrapped in blood. She not only realized the good things that Qin Shihuang did to protect the people in the Central Plains to live and work in peace and contentment, but also felt that her husband's dedication to building the city was worthwhile. In order never to be separated from her husband, she held Wan Xiliang's remains and jumped into the sea under the old faucet. Suddenly, there was a bolt from the blue and a loud noise. Two big rocks stand on the sea. This is the legendary tomb of Wan Xiliang and Meng Jiangnv.
2. Xianquan and Qinglong blessed to absorb water upside down.
According to legend, during the Qing Dynasty, Emperor Kangxi went to the North for a private visit. Passing the Badaling Great Wall, I feel thirsty and unbearable. General Bai, who followed the convoy, found a spring. As there were no cups and bowls, he finally had to invite the emperor to the fountain to drink. Emperor Kangxi was so thirsty that he didn't pay much attention to it, and he pursed his ass and drank enough. Drink the water and take a nap here.
Emperor Kangxi suddenly felt that drinking water just now was inappropriate and could not help but blurt out: "What do you think I looked like drinking water just now?" General Bai was very witty and quickly replied, "Like a dragon, it sucks water backwards." Emperor Kangxi laughed, and the bumps in his heart disappeared, saying that this place can quench his thirst in time and is a blessed land; Later, there was a legend that "Qinglong is blessed with water absorption".
3. East Rice Warehouse, West Rice Warehouse
Looking south at Badaling, there are two mountains, and the gravel on the mountains is rice-grained. The mountain in the east is called Dongmicang, and the mountain in the west is called Simicang. To build the Great Wall, migrant workers have to eat. There are many people, so we have to eat a lot of food every day. At that time, all the country's grain was sent here. There is not enough food, but more food, which is moldy in the sun and rain. Despite the constant delivery, it is still not enough for migrant workers to eat. Migrant workers don't have enough to eat and have to do heavy work, so even if they are hungry and tired, more people will die. ?
Empress Wang was very sympathetic to the sufferings of the people and touched the two Mi Shan in Badaling, which were full of food. Boy, two mountains of food, many people can't finish it! From then on, the people of the whole country will never send meals here again, and the migrant workers who built the Great Wall will never go hungry again. Until the Great Wall is completed, the two mountains will not be reduced. It is said that it was handed down from that time that men worked outside and women ate at home, because the heavenly queen was responsible for eating.
4. Hemp grass
There is a kind of grass called sisal grass in Badaling. This grass is poisonous. It hurts like a scorpion sting when people touch it. It grows outside the Badaling Great Wall, stands guard for the border guards and contributes a lot to the defense of Badaling. ? Legend has it that after the Great Wall was restored, heavy guards were set up at the pass. Of course, Badaling is an important pass. Since the day it was repaired, the garrison has been uninterrupted.
Are there no buildings on the Great Wall? That building is called the enemy building, and the people on guard are there. Officials often take a whip to check the sentry and find that the sentry of the watchtower is asleep, that is, a whip. ? What they are more afraid of is falling asleep, and the enemy doesn't know it when he touches it. In that case, they will not only be beaten, but also beheaded!
Therefore, as soon as they arrived at the post, they cried to God: "God, please don't let me fall asleep. When the enemy comes, say hello to me and let me know. " Needless to say, the Jade Emperor really knows their crying. The jade emperor realized the sufferings of the border guards, so he thought of a way to send grass gods with grass seeds and scatter them outside the Great Wall. Grass is growing everywhere. As soon as the invading enemy touched the grass, he was stung and screamed, and the sentry woke up when he heard someone shouting. From now on, I will never be beheaded for standing guard mistakes. Simao and the sentry became good friends, and they were more protective of Simao.
Step 5 find a bird, brother
Legend has it that there lived an honest, kind, hardworking and brave young man in a remote village at the foot of Jiulong Mountain. His parents died early, and he was single, but he was good at making friends and helping others and was very popular with his neighbors.
One day at noon, he came back from collecting firewood and was cooking. Suddenly, a strange man came in and asked for a drink. He warmly welcomed the guests into the room. The man sat on the kang and had a family conversation with him. The more they talk, the more speculative they are. It turns out that this man came here from far away in the south to do business. Unfortunately, his capital was robbed by bad guys on the way, and now he is penniless and can only make a living by begging.
This man's name is Wang Wen, who is two years older than this young man. When they were talking, Wang Wen suggested, "How about we become brothers?" The young man thought that he was single, and if he had a brother and a helper to do anything, he readily agreed. So Wang Wen is my brother and that young man is my brother. "Born on the same day in the same year, I wish to die on the same day in the same year, share weal and woe, and never part ..." The two exchanged branches for incense and spring water for wine, and vowed to each other. From then on, the two brothers ate a pot of rice together, lived in a bed, lived alone, and were like compatriots. Two years have passed in a blink of an eye.
One day, Wang Wen came back from collecting firewood outside and quietly said to the young man, "There is a hole under a mountain far away from here, and there are many treasures in it." Why don't we take it and live well? " The next day, the two brothers went straight to the mountain with dry food, rope and bags. After walking for three days and nights, the western hills are sunset. They found the mountain and the hole at the foot of it. Pulling open the dead branches and weeds, I saw the hole straight up and down, dark and endless.
Wang Wen said, "Dear brother, go down first and put the treasure in your pocket. I'll pull it up with a rope, and then I'll drag you." Without saying anything, the young man tied a rope around his waist and slipped down the hole. Sure enough, the treasure sparkled. He packed a bag and asked Wang Wen to pull it up. When Wang Wen saw the treasure, he felt very sad and thought it belonged to me and I would never enjoy it. So I picked up my pocket and left in a panic.
Besides, the young man waited for the rope at the bottom of the hole, but the rope didn't come down. He thought, why didn't the king kill himself in the cave? Something must have happened to him ... he shouted in despair, "Wang, Wang!" " In this way, I don't know how many sentences I shouted. My voice was hoarse and my tears dried up. This honest and kind young man starved to death at the bottom of the cave. Later, he became a bird and flew out of the cave. He traveled all over Qian Shan looking for an ungrateful and greedy "Brother Wang". Until now, people still hear "Brother Wang! Wang mournful cry.
