How do you know if there is fog the next morning?
Fog is a kind of natural weather phenomenon, which refers to the phenomenon that when the air near the ground is cooled to a certain extent under the condition of sufficient water vapor, breeze and stable atmosphere, the water vapor in the air will condense into fine water droplets suspended in the air, which will reduce the visibility of the ground. It occurs frequently in February and April in spring, and the forming conditions are cooling and humidifying, and the types are radiation fog, advection fog, mixed fog and evaporation fog.
When white light shines on a transparent object, the transmitted light is mainly the same color as the transparent object, and all other colors are absorbed by transparent body. If a transparent object can transmit all colors of light, then the transparent body is colorless, such as ice. But when water turns into fog, many reflecting surfaces are formed.
Types of fog
1, radiation fog
After sunset, the hot air on the ground radiates into the sky, and the cooled ground condenses the air nearby. Wet air will drop below the dew point, forming countless small water droplets suspended in the air, which is radiation fog. It mainly appears in the early morning of autumn or winter, with clear weather and weak wind, and will naturally dissipate shortly after sunrise or after the wind speed increases.
2. Sea fog
Warm and humid air moves horizontally, passes through the cold ground or water surface, and gradually cools to form fog, which is called advection fog in meteorology.
3. Evaporation fog
Cold air flows over the warm water. If there is a big difference between the air temperature and the water temperature, a lot of water vapor will evaporate from the water surface, and the cold air near the water surface will condense into fog. At this time, there is often an inversion layer on the fog layer, otherwise convection will make the fog dissipate. Therefore, the evaporation fog has a small range and weak intensity, and generally appears around the pond in the second half of the year.
4, uphill fog
This is the fog produced by humid air rising along the hillside and adiabatic cooling supersaturating the air. This humid air must be stable and the slope of the hillside must be small, otherwise convection will form and it is difficult to form fog.
