The story of crossing the Jinsha River skillfully

The Red Army skillfully crossed the Jinsha River.

After the cadres occupied the ferry, the follow-up troops of the Red Army marched on Kyaukphyu.

The two wooden boats captured by cadres are far from enough for tens of thousands of Red Army to cross the river. With the help of the masses, we found seven boats and mobilized 36 boatmen from Yi, Han and Dai nationalities. The boatmen were divided into two shifts in turn, and people worked tirelessly without rest. From May 1 day, they insisted on ferrying for the Red Army day and night.

Seven ferries in the river, like seven big fish shuttling back and forth in the river. The hillsides on both sides of the Taiwan Strait are covered with troops, horses and luggage. There were songs and laughter everywhere: "As soon as we crossed the river, we left hundreds of thousands of Chiang Kai-shek's troops behind!"

"What did Chiang Kai-shek get after him!"

"I found some pairs of rotten straw sandals!"

On May 3rd, before dawn, Mao Zedong and Wei Guoqing, battalion commander of the fourth battalion of the Cadre Corps, crossed the Jinsha River by boat.

The water of Jinsha River flows eastward, and steep rocks on both sides sandwich Jinsha River. The turbulent river splashed layers of water and slapped Mao Zedong's skirt. Mao Zedong said humorously, "Zhuge Liang went deep into Shanghai in May, and we also came to Shanghai in May!"

On the north bank of Jiaopingdu, there is a row of caves dug on the stone wall, which is the headquarters of crossing the river.

Mao Zedong lives in the first cave in the direction of water flow in the west, while Zhou Enlai, Zhu De and Liu Bocheng live in several caves in the east. Mao Zedong and his comrades arrived at the north shore, regardless of the hard work of the Long March, working nervously in the dark and humid cave, directing the Red Army to cross the river. There are six or seven telephones in the cave in Mao Zedong. The telephone keeps ringing, and the "desk" is full of documents and telegrams. Mao Zedong answered phone call after phone call, and then read text messages, busy. It was in this cave near the Jinsha River that the central leaders spent several busy days and nights.

On May 5th, Zhang Aiping, head of the 1 1 regiment of the Red Third Army Corps, took a battalion, a reconnaissance platoon and a radio station to cross the river first, and went to Zhou Enlai, vice chairman of the Military Commission of the North Bank Crossing Command, to accept the task.

The headquarters also has Peng, head of the Third Army Corps, and Yang, political commissar. After inquiring about the situation of the troops with concern, Zhou Enlai explained to Zhang Aiping the task: advance westward along the north bank of the river, quickly reach Longjie Ferry, north of Yuanmou and south of Jiang Yi, strike the enemy pursuing northward along Kangda Avenue in Tongchuan, Kunming, and cover our troops crossing the river, then take a break in Huili and continue to follow up. At the same time, pay attention to contact with the first legion troops along the south bank of the road, convey the orders of the military commission, change their plans to cross the river from Longjie, and attack Jiaoping to cross the river. Because the CMC lost radio contact with the First Army Corps after it turned back from the Yuanmou-Longyan boundary.

Before dusk, they walked along the narrow path on the north bank of Jinsha River, over mountains and mountains, and went downstream. Everyone kept looking at the other side when marching on the dangerous mountain road. Because Jinsha River is the dividing line between Yunnan and Sichuan, it is really "being in Sichuan and looking at Yunnan".

Night slowly enveloped the Jinsha River. Clouds obscured the starlight. What if a cliff cuts off the road? Let's take a detour. I'm afraid I can't contact the troops on the other side, so I have to set up a ladder, insert a bayonet into a crack in the rock and climb up. The person who goes to the top of the mountain first will use the belt to make hanging ropes, hang guns, ammunition boxes and radio stations. Those mules and horses that can't be hoisted have to give up their love very reluctantly.

Go to midnight, it began to rain. These mountains are more difficult to walk. The fallen comrades cursed: "How reactionary the weather is!" Some are deliberately happy: "It's so cool, you don't need to take a bath."

After midnight, the rain stopped. When I first arrived at Luchedu, I suddenly saw a long string of torches on the other side, like a fire dragon, wagging its head and tail and coming along the river. Comrade Zhang Aiping recognized it as a regiment, and they immediately rushed to the river to cheer. But how can you see and hear the wide roar of the river and the darkness? So I called several trumpeters to play the contact number together.

The flashlight on the other side suddenly went out. The trumpeter blew the horn. It is also the brand of the Red Sanjuntuan, and the other party replied that it is the first division of the first legion. Then they used the method of collective propaganda to pass on the orders of the Central Military Commission and let a regiment rush to Jiaoping to cross the river. On the other side, another torch was lit and rushed to the east.

They also lit torches in Zhang Aiping. Two fire dragons jumped into the river and held an unprecedented torch parade.

They crossed the post city, climbed more than ten miles of mountains, crossed the Maoer Pass, crossed the steaming flaming mountain, and reached the riverside village on the other side of Longjie Ferry to build fortifications to stop the enemy from crossing the river.

Four days later, all the troops have successfully crossed the Jinsha River, and after resting in Huili area, they continue to advance northward.

The Red Army's successful crossing of the Jinsha River was the result of the command of the Central Military Commission and Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai. This is another victory since Zunyi Conference and after Sidu Chishui, which declared Chiang Kai-shek's complete bankruptcy. Because of this victory, the Red Army jumped out of the circle surrounded by hundreds of thousands of enemy troops, got rid of the enemy and won the initiative of strategic shift, which was of decisive significance in the whole Long March.

It's too late to chase the enemy. On May 9th, the enemy reached Shuju River. On May 10, they came to Jiaoping Ferry. The Red Army has passed the north bank of Jinsha River, so we have to sigh in Wangjiang!
