Let's start with the ultra wide-angle lens of Huawei P40 series.

Since the ultra-wide-angle lens joined the mobile phone shooting camp, because it is more practical, it can shoot landscapes, buildings, humanities and photos ... Now the ultra-wide-angle lens of mobile phones has gradually approached or even surpassed the main camera lens in the use scene and frequency. Mobile phone manufacturers are also keenly aware of this and pay more and more attention to the creation of ultra-wide angle.

However, it is not easy to design a super wide-angle lens. It is necessary to obtain a wider viewing angle, keep the picture horizontal and vertical, and balance the overall image quality from the center to the edge. It is really difficult to kill two birds with one stone, which is why the professional super wide-angle lenses on micro-single cameras and SLR cameras are so huge that they are dubbed "light bulbs" by photographers.

Huawei P40' s ultra-wide-angle lens, however, sincerely uses11.54 inch RGGB photosensitive chip, but the focal length is slightly conservative, only equivalent to 18mm, which is far from other competitors' 12mm and 14mm, and the impact of the shot picture is not so sufficient.

After use, the overall performance of Huawei P40' s ultra-wide angle is not bad, the picture quality is very balanced, and there are no common defects such as corner collapse, deformation and distortion on other mobile phone lenses, and there is little ghostly glare in backlight shooting, which is well controlled. If you use your mobile phone to "take photos" in direct mode in clear weather with blue sky and white clouds, P40' s super wide angle can take excellent photos of Ming Rui with bright colors and delicate pictures. However, if you use the professional mode of RAW shooting, the original image quality is better and there is a slight dark corner, but it can be adjusted by PS, LR and other software, and it is also very convenient in the later stage.

But overall, the P40' s super wide-angle color and sharpness are unmatched by the main camera. If the built-in filter is removed, the picture will be brighter. Although it is said that the maximum is 40 million pixels, no matter whether it is RAW or JPG, it can only output 6.5438+million pixels at most, which can be used in the circle of friends, but it cannot output high-definition printed works.

Another problem that I am most dissatisfied with is focusing. This super wide-angle focusing can only be accurate when there is plenty of sunshine. If it is in a dark environment, the probability of defocusing jitter is very high. Sometimes the mobile phone has been optimized, but I still can't see it. I didn't find the problem until I got back to the computer. I suggested improvements to Huawei a long time ago, but I feel that there should be no optimization.

Therefore, this ultra-wide angle of P40 series is very practical, but it can only exert its best performance in the big sun. The algorithm of in-machine direct shooting makes the photos look better, and shooting RAW format is not as necessary as the main camera. And for me, Huawei does not provide RAW full pixel output, which is the biggest regret.
