Laojun Mountain has a history of Taoist culture of more than 2,000 years. During the Northern Wei Dynasty, a temple was built in the mountain to commemorate it. During the Zhenguan period of Tang Dynasty, it was sealed by the emperor and built "laojunmiao". In the 19th year of Wanli in Ming Dynasty, it was awarded the Taoist scriptures of Laojunshan, which was called "a famous mountain in the world". Laojunmiao, the highest peak of the existing temples, is the largest, and there is a saying that there is Wudang Jinding in the south and Laojun Tieding in the north.

Laojun Mountain has 6 scenic spots, including 179 and temples 16, such as Taiqing Palace, Yuan Shifang, Lingguan Hall, Forest Vinegar Hall, Shepherd's Fence, Jiuku Hall, Chuanjing Building, Guanyin Hall, Sanqing Hall and laojunmiao. On the south side of Mazongling, there are more than 3,000 acres of stone forest landscape open to tourists, which is called "Northland Stone Forest" by geologists.
