I'm in Tsim Zhu Wen, a small town with great love.

Although Tsim Zhuwen is not a very famous tourist destination in Thailand, it was attracted by her reputation as "Durian Capital" and "Gem Capital" before coming. Located on the Thai-Cambodian border and in the east of Thailand, Tsim Chuk Veng is not far from Samet Island and Elephant Island, and about five hours' drive from Bangkok.

1. school profile

The public Dongying School, where I was teaching at that time, was located in Tsim Sha Tsui. The public Dongying School was founded in the Buddhist calendar in 2489 after the Second World War. The school building was originally a French-style villa, but it was ruined and ruined, so it had the idea of reconstruction. In 2515, a spectacular three-story teaching building stood in the center of the city, and Dongying played the movement of Chinese education. With the full opening of Thai authorities to Chinese education, Dongying School built the second teaching building with five floors in 2541 to adapt to the development of the new situation. In 2546, with the opening ceremony of the third teaching building, the public Dongying School entered a new stage of development. The public Dongying School has gone through more than 7 years of history since it was founded. Like many Chinese schools, it has gone through many vicissitudes and is stronger. At present, Dongying School is very famous in Tsim Sha Tsui, attracting many students from different regions to join. There are three teaching buildings in the school: kindergarten, primary school and junior high school, with a total of more than 1 students.

Second, Chinese teachers in the school

There are less than 3 Chinese teachers in the school, mainly composed of Hanban, Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, local teachers in Thailand and self-employed teachers, among which Hanban teachers account for a large number, accounting for one third of the total number. The Chinese course in the preschool class is mainly taken care of by local teachers in Thailand, with one teacher from China and one local teacher from grade one to grade three respectively. Although there is a local Thai teacher to accompany the class, sometimes the local Thai teacher has classes or other things and can't accompany the class every time. In this case, the teaching effect is not very good. From the fourth grade to junior high school, there is no Thai native Chinese teacher to accompany the class, and many classes have poor students' level and the course progress is very slow. Teachers from Thailand and China should strengthen exchanges and cooperation, and China's office should be equipped with more teachers from Thailand.

Third, the current situation of Chinese teaching in schools

Although the public Dongying School has a history of more than 7 years. However, there are still many problems to be solved in Chinese teaching.

(1) The problem of Chinese textbooks.

First of all, the content of Chinese textbooks used in schools is very old, which is seriously divorced from real life, and the textbooks cannot be in line with today's China. Secondly, the content of the textbook does not match the students' actual Chinese level. Take Class Three, which I teach, for example, there is a text called "Pig Eight Rings Eat Watermelon". The text is long and tasteless, and students are not only uninterested, but almost all of the text has no pinyin, and students don't know two-thirds of the words, let alone let them understand the content.

(2), the problem of curriculum arrangement.

First of all, the schedule of Chinese courses is too long, and the time from grade one to grade three is one hour, so students are easily tired. Junior high school students can't better accept the content output by teachers in about forty minutes, let alone primary school students. Secondly, the curriculum is not systematic, which is also related to the long-term lack of teaching materials in schools. At the same stage, teachers' teaching mode and content are not unified, and they do whatever they want, which leads to different progress. The overall curriculum arrangement is chaotic, especially the activity classes, which are ignored by students and the teachers are casual.

(3) The position of Chinese in the overall teaching of public Dongying schools needs to be improved.

The original intention of the public Dongying School was to develop Chinese education, but as far as the present situation is concerned, it deviated from the original intention. Because China can't beat and scold students, in the long run, students will seize China's weakness and ignore classroom discipline. However, most Thai teachers beat and scold students, who are afraid and have good classroom discipline, unlike China's classroom. Moreover, Chinese has no right to speak, and Chinese-related activities need to be approved and funded by the Thai side.

(4) Students are not interested in learning Chinese.

There are mainly the following factors: First, the school did not choose a good textbook for students, or even no textbook. Secondly, Chinese classes are not taken seriously. Although there are many classes and the time is not short, students only regard Chinese classes as time for rest, play, chatting and doing homework. At present, this is hard to change. Finally, teachers are relatively mobile, and most of them leave their posts within a few months. Although they have a passion for teaching Chinese well, they are difficult to implement. So some teachers simply give up and muddle along.

tears and laughter of students and me

I have seven classes, 17 classes a week, five morning classes and 12 regular classes. There are more classes and more students. Sometimes you can't take care of every student. Up to now, I still can't name each of them accurately. In this half-year relationship, there is only one sentence that can be summarized: tired and happy! I still remember the smiles on their faces when I first met them. When I am strict, their eyes are afraid; When I won the game, so many familiar faces cheered for me; When my voice was hoarse, the children brought me water; When they were angry and crying, the children handed me the paper and gave me a hug ... We are teachers and students in class, and we are good friends who tell everything after class. In addition to colleagues around me, students are the closest and most intimate people who make me happy and worry.
