Historically, Xiasi inherited Sichuan and Yunnan, and Hunan and Guangdong at the bottom. From the establishment of the Wengpao barbarian chief official in the middle of the Yuan Dynasty, to the 13th year of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty (1808), Xiasi was officially opened as a commercial port. During the Republic of China, it developed into a bustling city. People sailing along the river would inevitably stop and take a rest, where diverse cultures collided and merchants gathered. Thus, this small mountain town hidden in southeastern Guizhou was born.
