Located in Nansha, Guangzhou, what is the only waterbird ecological park in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area?

Having not been to Nansha, I didn’t know that Guangzhou also has sea views. When I arrived in Nansha, I realized how big Guangzhou is.

Nansha, the core area of ??the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, is one of the best ecological areas in the Pearl River Delta. It has fascinating natural scenery and an overwhelming amount of beautiful food.

In midsummer, the weather was fine. A group of us traveled from downtown Guangzhou to Nansha District to explore the beautiful corners of the natural environment. During this trip, Nansha Waterbird World Ecological Park was our favorite destination.

Nansha Waterbird World Ecological Park is located in Wanqingsha Town, Nansha District, Guangzhou City, adjacent to Nansha Wetland Park, covering an area of ??250,000 square meters. It is the only waterbird ecological park in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the largest in the south. One of the ecological parks close to the sea. In ancient times, this place was part of the sea and became land after years of sedimentation.

Zoos are found everywhere, and water birds are also common, but ecological parks with water birds as the theme are rare. According to staff, there are nearly 50 species of first- and second-level protected animals in the Nansha Waterbird World Ecological Park alone. It is not only an ornamental park, but also a popular science base, a creative paradise and a waterfowl breeding base. It is very suitable for bringing children to expand their knowledge. For adults, they can also benefit a lot from watching and understanding.

Nansha Waterbird World Ecological Park focuses on protection and research, supplemented by tourism development. Various creative works can be seen everywhere in the park.

Entering the scenic spot and coming to the first hall, the first thing you see is a colorful elephant with a group of mini elephants, full of tropical style in South Asia and Southeast Asia.

Swan Lake is right next to the main entrance of the park. Black and white swans play freely in the clear water, creating a warm scene.

According to the staff, the water area of ??Swan Lake is about 100,000 square meters. There are mute swans and black swans introduced from the Netherlands in the lake. They are inseparable and can be called a model of love in the animal world.

Nansha Waterbird World Ecological Park includes six small island scenic spots including Rainforest Island, Huashu Island, and Treasure Island.

Walking along the trail, crossing bridges and walking through forests, you will encounter various rare birds along the way, including white pelicans, various parrots, peacocks, mandarin ducks, etc.

The main breeding ground of white pelicans is in southeastern Europe. During the winter, they often appear in southwest Asia and Africa. This water bird has a long beak that can hold food when it is opened, making it easier for them to catch fish.

The white pelicans seem to be used to seeing strangers. Our arrival did not affect their leisurely life at all. One of the white pelicans even came ashore to interact with us, and several companions lined up to take photos with it.

There are various kinds of peacocks living in the ecological park, and they are also not afraid of strangers.

On land by the water, we also saw a peacock mother leading a group of baby peacocks to enjoy the cool air.

Peacocks mainly live in the tropics and subtropics and like sparse forests and grasslands, especially open areas near water.

Continuing to visit, the colorful parrot valley, gold and silver pond, white stork beach and other landscapes all have their own characteristics.

During the tour, the beautiful black-crowned cranes caught our attention. They were walking leisurely on the grass, seemingly looking for some food.

According to reports, the black-crowned crane is a resident bird that likes to live in groups. It usually lives in open swamp areas. Its body length reaches 105 cm. Its down feathers are black, and the feathers on the back half of its body are black. It's yellow, with a bunch of stamen-like hair on the crown. This kind of bird has an elegant body and is the "stunning beauty" and "reincarnation of Pan An" in the animal world.

The black-crowned crane is mainly found in West and Central Africa. It is the national bird of Nigeria. It is an honor to appreciate their beauty in Nansha.

The staff told us that many of the architectural works in the park have won awards in competitions. These works are unconstrained and integrated with the natural environment, showing elegant aesthetic taste and artistic sense.

These creative works are mainly distributed near the water. Some are symmetrical patterns, and some are irregular geometric figures. After careful appreciation, you will find that some of the works look very similar to birds in nature. It must be that the creators combined natural elements into integrated into the work.
