What is outdoor advertising?

Outdoor advertising refers to the use of public buildings, space and transportation and other forms of setting, hanging, posting advertisements.

Outdoor advertising may be one of the earliest existing forms of advertising. The earliest form of outdoor advertising is usually to put some eye-catching signs on the conspicuous places on the external walls of houses. Archaeologists have found many such marks in the ruins of ancient Rome and Pompeii. An outdoor advertisement excavated from the ruins of ancient Rome said that there was a property for rent, and there was one on the wall of Pompeii to attract tourists here.

In the following thousands of years, even with the continuous development of printing, broadcasting, television, cable communication and Internet in recent years, outdoor advertising has always been one of the most widely used media to build brands and convey market information.

Advertising expenses spent on outdoor media in recent years-including spotlights, bus shelters, single columns, subway posters, buses, airport advertisements, etc. -is enough to prove its universality. -Since 1990, it has grown rapidly at a rate of 25% per year, far faster than newspapers, magazines, radio and television. According to a recent survey by Media Magazine (2000), outdoor, as the second largest media after TV, delivers information to the public in China.

Common outdoor media types:

Single media-usually purchased separately when purchasing outdoor media, such as spotlights, single columns, neon lights, walls, three-sided flip, etc.
